Job Description:

Provide specialized business management guidance and support for a functional area and implement policies / processes and/or initiatives to meet business management, strategy and governance objectives. May provide complex reporting, analysis, and assessments at the functional or enterprise level.

Technology Business Operations Introduction

Business Operations Management (BOM) helps our Corporate Technology partners achieve operational and strategic excellence, specializing in the following areas: Financial and performance management, portfolio and investment management, resource management, operational risk management, and employee and colleague communications and engagement. The BOM team is committed to achieving excellence through the standardization and continuous improvement of its services and prides itself in being a highly collaborative and cross-functional group of professionals.

Provide specialized business management guidance and support for a functional area and implement policies / processes and/or initiatives to meet business management, strategy and governance objectives. May provide complex reporting, analysis, and assessments at the functional or enterprise level.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Build strong partnerships with Technology & Business partners and be able to effectively communicate Platform results.
  • Work effectively with multiple teams across a broad spectrum of initiatives and functional domains, influencing and aligning others as needed.
  • Plan, lead, manage and oversee a diverse set of operational activities related to Resource Management and Financial planning including the management of the approval process for your area.
  • Lead the monthly forecasting and yearly budgeting process. Meet with the teams to gather input and consolidate forecasts and budgets.
  • Create and produce Dashboards and Scorecards, work with teams to update rolling forecasts and monitor performance against plan.
  • Own and drive relevant governance meetings, related deliverables and outcomes.
  • Present monthly consolidated resource and financial results. Identify gaps, pinpoint issues, identify productivity opportunities, know the trends, and provide specialized business management & financial advice to senior management and respective teams.
  • Contribute to the strategic direction of the business management function and play a key role in the development and implementation of strategies in support of the overall business strategy
  • Oversee, lead, manage and plan a diverse set of work activities involving the development and implementation of policies, processes, procedures, changes across multiple functional areas, including Resource Management and Financial planning
  • Facilitate key discussions and provide thought leadership to executive audience
  • Demonstrate strong leadership capabilities with a desire to provide coaching and career direction to team members
  • Enhance activities and implement effective and innovative solutions, including automation, where there is an opportunity to gain efficiencies through process improvement
  • Act as subject matter expert for own area and provide guidance/ advice and recommendations to support interactions with internal / external partners.
  • Keep focus on process simplification and automation of reporting as far as possible. Participate in ad hoc projects as required

  • Adhere to enterprise frameworks and methodologies that relate to business management activities
  • Actively manage relationships with corporate functions and ensure alignment with enterprise requirements
  • Assess and identify key issues and escalate to appropriate levels and relevant stakeholders where required
  • Maintain a culture of risk management and control, supported by effective processes and sound infrastructure in alignment with risk appetite
  • Ensure business operations are in compliance with applicable internal and external requirements (e.g. financial controls, segregation of duties, transaction approvals, and physical control of assets).
  • Participate in cross-functional initiatives as a subject matter expert helping to identify risk and provide guidance for complex situations
  • Own and drive relevant governance meetings or committees and related deliverables and outcomes

BREADTH & DEPTH
  • Work autonomously and accountable for acting as a lead within a specialized business management function and may provide work direction to others
  • Provide seasoned specialized knowledge, advice and/or guidance to various stakeholders and team members
  • Oversee and independently perform tasks from end to end

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION
  • Undergraduate degree in Finance, Business or have relevant experience
  • 7+ years relevant experience
  • Superior presentation and communication skills - be a confident, transparent and concise communicator (verbal and written)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with P&L, budgeting, forecasting, resource management and costing.
  • Expertise or working knowledge in Excel & PowerPoint (must), Clarity PPM, MS SharePoint,
  • Ability to work in the details and summarize key analytics for an executive audience
