Some of what you will do

As the Senior Analyst, Sales Audit, your primary responsibility will be to review the Point-of-Sale (POS) and Order Management System (OMS) transaction data for accuracy. This involves balancing out cashiers, cash registers, and/or an entire store day, which validates the totals from POS and OMS against the calculated and tendered totals of transactions.

Specifically, you will:

    •Audit store cash deposits against each transaction day. Review the stores' cash reporting package and ensure its accuracy and completeness.
    •Audit store POS transaction postings to the AS400 and work with IT to ensure missing transactions are recovered and posted
    •Reconcile the Staples gift card program and other programs as required for retail stores, B2B and corporate orders
    •Reconcile online credit card settlements and collaborate with Digital team to investigate variances
    •Report non-compliance and fraud to store operations and asset protection
    •Liaise with external service providers (such as banks, Moneris, Amex, Desjardins, Flexiti and MSTS) to resolve customer escalations and disputes related to their transactions at Staples
    •Provide support to the asset protection team, as well as the business (including merchandising, operations and marketing) with various projects and sales growth initiatives
    •Provide escalation support to IT, Digital and Corporate Customer Care teams
    •Provide reports on Staples credit programs such as Desjardins, Flexiti and MSTS
    •Store Occurrence Reports and Insurance and Claims Management Liaison. Liaise with external providers and internal stakeholders, such as legal, risk management, asset protection, store operations and HR, with occurrence report details
    •Distribute chargebacks received from the banks to the stores. Provide support to the stores on customer chargeback resolutions.
    •Provide support for various external/internal audits (financial, sales tax, PCI compliance and other audits)
Some of what you need

    •Minimum of 3 years of work experience in a sales audit, accounting or related field
    •University degree or equivalent with a finance focus
    •Strong understanding of retail operations POS and AS400/JDA systems
    •Experience in cash reconciliations and tender variance investigations in a retail environment
    •Proficient with Microsoft Office with strong to advanced Excel Skills
    •Bilingual is a definite asset
