Our Audit Quality and Risk Management group (AQ&RM) is looking for a dynamic individual to join our team as a Senior Analyst, Audit Quality & Risk Management. The AQ&RM group helps ensure the Firm and its personnel are in compliance with Professional, Regulatory, and KPMG risk management policies and procedures. The Senior Analyst, AQ&RM role will primarily focus on risk and audit quality activities associated with the effective execution of the Firm's internal monitoring program for audit, assurance and accounting advisory services engagements - Quality Performance Reviews (QPR). The individual will also be involved in other related risk management projects and initiatives that drive audit quality and provide reliable monitoring information to key stakeholders.

What you will do
  • Provide support to the Manager, AQ&RM in ensuring the effective planning, execution, analysis and reporting of results associated with the Firm's QPR program. This include activities relating to the maintenance of databases to facilitate the selection of engagement leaders and engagements for review in the program as well as assignment and scheduling of reviews.
  • Review information documented in internal monitoring systems and validate completeness and accuracy based on reliable information sources.
  • Maintain up-to-date process documentation and make recommendations for process improvements to support the effective operation of controls as part of the Firm's system of quality control.
  • Monitor functional mailboxes and respond to basic queries relating to the QPR program, escalating more complex ones to the appropriate individuals and in a timely manner.
  • Manage and maintain key automated flows and application that are integral to the QPR process, including those that drive collaboration between reviewers and engagement
  • teams, provide seamless access to authorized individuals involved in the reviews and promote robust documentation of key controls.
  • Apply pre-defined criteria in determining training requirements for QPR review teams and collaborate with the learning management team in ensuring training assignment and monitoring on a consistent basis throughout the review cycle.
  • Generate reports from internal monitoring and risk assessment systems and apply various data analysis techniques in analyzing and presenting the data for use in the QPR program.
  • Provide support in ensuring timely and accurate communication with various stakeholders who are key to the QPR process and across several geographical and business units.
  • Leverage available technology and artificial intelligence application to drive consistency and efficiency in performing key risk management tasks.
What you bring to the role
  • Post-secondary education, preferably in a business-related field.
  • Minimum 2 years relevant experience is required. Experience in audit or audit risk management is an asset.
  • High aptitude to learning new systems/technology and equipped with advanced Microsoft Office and other data analysis skills, including Excel, PowerPoint, PowerBI, Power Query, Power Pivot and DAX (VLOOKUP, pivot table etc.)
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, the ability to generate high quality deliverables, respond to inquiries with professionalism and maintain elevated level of confidentiality.
  • Must be highly organized, possess strong project coordination skills.
  • Proficiency in English at a business level is required.
