This role will be for the Canadian Debt Capital Markets team in Toronto, assisting in the coverage of corporate clients. The role provides a combination of deep industry expertise, innovative thinking in a team-based environment and world class execution across a full suite of products to clients through an integrated Capital Markets platform using a sector ecosystem approach.

This role will be for the Canadian Debt Capital Markets team in Toronto, assisting in the coverage of corporate clients. - Support the origination and execution of investment grade debt transactions
- Prepare and maintain marketing materials, including pitch books and market updates
- Perform credit and financial analysis, including review of financial statements, credit metrics, leverage and coverage ratios and peer comparison analysis
- Assist in transaction execution, including coordination with syndicate, sales & trading, legal, compliance and internal coverage partners
- Monitor capital markets conditions, investor sentiment, and new issue activity; contribute to market commentary and client ideas
- Conduct industry and issuer research to support client coverage and business development efforts
- Support senior bankers in client meetings, deal execution and ongoing relationship management
- Mentor and review work of junior team members (for Associate-level candidates)
- Identify opportunities for increased efficiency and improved service to internal and external clients
- Integrate information from multiple sources to enable more efficient processes, enhanced analysis, and/or streamlined reporting
- Consider risk, internal controls and compliance as part of day-to-day accountabilities and adhere to policies and procedures
- Think creatively and proposes new solutions.
- Exercise judgment to identify, diagnose, and solve problems within given rules
- Broader work or accountabilities may be assigned as needed
Qualifications:
- 1 - 3 years of relevant experience within debt capital markets considered a strong asset
- Fixed income and other credit research experience will also be considered
- Strong understanding of fixed income products, capital structure, and corporate credit fundamentals
- An undergraduate degree with academic coursework in finance, economics, or accounting and an outstanding academic achievement.
- Financial analysis training and experience.
- Expertise in financial computer applications and database management tools.
- Skilled in creating statistical presentations.
- Verbal & written communication skills - In-depth.
- Collaboration & team skills - In-depth.
- Analytical and problem solving skills - In-depth.
