Job Skills / Requirements

Position: Casual Security Guard
Site: Various
Hours: Various 4, 8, and 12 hours shifts
Overtime Method: Averaging Agreement (AA) after 88 hours
Payrate(s): Minimum $18.00/hours (base rate)

Note: All casual security guards have their base payrate set to minimum wage ($18.00/hour), however you are paid based on which is higher: your base payrate, or the site payrate.

Typical Duties and Responsibilities:
•Provide exceptional customer service and assistance and sustain effective relationships with clients and patrons
•Conduct proactive patrols to ensure safety and address policy breaches, and note any concerns
•Attend and investigate security alarms and emergencies in a timely and professional manner
•De-escalate crisis situations, provide support and liaise with emergency personnel including police, fire and paramedic resources
•Exercise crowd control and evict trespassers
•Write clear and detailed reports including incident, emergency, liability and day to day reports
•Provide first aid and medical response when required to any person(s)
•Utilize two-way radios and computer applications to communicate site activities

Job Requirements


•Valid Security License for the province of Ontario
•Valid First Aid & CPR - Level C (from a WSIB-approved vendor)
•Management of Aggressive Behaviour and Use of Force Certification
•Paladin Security is willing to offer this certification on a commitment contract (minimum of six (6) months) for new hires upon Onboarding
•Paladin provides an opt-in certification program for applicants who are not currently certified prior to your Paladin onboarding. More details are available as requested during the interview
•Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
•Strong observational skills
•Ability to walk 15 - 20 km and use stairs in single shift
•Proof of (minimum) double COVID-19 vaccination preferred
•Bilingualism (English and French) is considered an asset
•6+ months of security experience preferred
•6+ months of customer service experience preferred
