To meet our growth challenges, WSP is currently seeking a Senior Rotating Equipment Engineer to join our Energy, Resources and Industry (ERI) Sector located at any one of our Canadian offices, with preference for Calgary, AB, Moncton, NB, or Kitchener, ON. As a Senior Rotating Equipment Engineer, you'll be a senior expert on rotating equipment, leading teams and mentoring junior staff, working directly with clients and other project stakeholders to meet our project milestones. - Coordinate with contractors and team members from diverse backgrounds, ensuring effective communication across all organizational levels.
- Prepare and deliver clear, well-supported presentations and reports to guide project decision-making.
- Manage multiple priorities and deadlines, adapting quickly to changing project requirements.
- Utilize advanced engineering software and specialized tools for heavy machinery to support project execution.
- Oversee the planning, scheduling, and estimation of engineering activities from initial design through to construction documentation.
- Contribute to proposal development and support business growth efforts.
- Prepare and review cost estimates, project schedules, risk assessments, and technical aspects of equipment design.
- Interpret and apply project specifications to ensure equipment meets all requirements.
- Track design changes, manage contract variations, and assist in the development of change orders.
- Develop comprehensive Scopes of Work and technical specifications for mechanical packaged equipment.
- Mechanical Engineering degree
- P.Eng. designation, or ability to obtain
- 10+ years of previous rotating equipment experience in an EPCM or turbomachinery equipment manufacturing environment.
- Subject matter expertise as a Senior Rotating Equipment Engineer, including leading project meetings, liaising with stakeholders and clients, and mentoring others.
- Working knowledge in all areas of Rotating Equipment, including:
- Centrifugal compressors
- Electrical motors
- Machinery in cryogenic applications
- Dry Gas Seals and Mechanical seals
- Machinery overhauls and component repairs
- Vibration, Noise Analysis & Rotor-Dynamics
- Machinery Performance analysis
- Anti-surge protection
- Condition Monitoring
- Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA)
- Shop and/or operations experience (an asset).
- Ability to review P&ID's, Line List, ISO's, and knowledge of OPP and OPPSD Requirements.
