The Opportunity

As a Rock Mechanics Lab Coordinator in our Burlington laboratory, you will play an important role in coordinating day-to-day laboratory operations and ensuring samples, testing requirements, schedules and documentation move efficiently through the lab.

Working closely with the Lab Supervisor, laboratory staff, project teams and clients, you will help maintain an organized, quality-focused laboratory while supporting project delivery and effective communication.

Your Impact
  • Coordinate the receipt, logging, tracking, processing, storage and distribution of rock samples, ensuring accurate records are maintained throughout the laboratory workflow.
  • Coordinate laboratory workflow and testing priorities based on project requirements, testing capacity and turnaround expectations.
  • Monitor laboratory workflow and communicate with internal and external clients regarding testing capacity, turnaround times, sample status, and any issues that may impact project delivery.
  • Support quality-focused laboratory practices, including accurate data generation, technical documentation, record keeping and adherence to laboratory procedures.
  • Support equipment and inventory management, including equipment status, calibration and maintenance requirements, laboratory supplies and stock control.
  • Work collaboratively with the Lab Supervisor and laboratory team to maintain an organized, safe and efficient laboratory operation.
  • Perform other technical, coordination, administrative and project related duties as required to support laboratory operations.

The Skills that Set You Apart
  • Successful completion of a technical college diploma or university degree in engineering technology, engineering, geology, earth sciences, materials science or a related discipline.
  • Experience in a laboratory, technical, engineering, materials testing or project coordination environment is an asset.
  • Experience with rock mechanics, geotechnical or materials testing is an asset, but not required.
  • Excellent organization and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects, samples, deadlines and changing priorities.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy, quality and complete documentation.

Compensation

AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $26.50 - $35.20
MB & ON: $24.20 - $33.40
NB, NL, NS, PE & QC: $24.00 - $31.80
