Some of what you will do

Reporting to the General Counsel, you will identify and manage key risks for the organization, including the management of Staples' insurance program. Each day will be fast paced, challenging, rewarding and meaningful and you will be inspired to bring your best, every day.

Specifically, you will:
    •Manage and report on claims
    •Manage relationships with third party providers including the third-party claims manager and insurance broker
    •Work with Staples' insurance broker, review and purchase insurance programs
    •Recommend and assist to implement exposure solutions and loss control activities
    •Prepare loss analyses and budgets
    •Identify exposures
    •Update and monitor compliance with risk mitigation and related procedure
    •Partner with the risk management team at Staples affiliates in the US
    •Prepare risk management and insurance budget
    •Risk reporting tailored to the relevant audience.
    •Maintain records of insurance policies and claims
    •Reviewing any new major contracts or internal business proposals
    •Building risk awareness amongst staff by providing support and training within the company

Some of what you need
    • Post-secondary degree
    • 4-6 years of risk management or insurance experience
    • Exceptional technical expertise and communication skills
    • Ability to establish relationships with business colleagues on short/long term tasks, projects and strategies
    • Has the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
    • Experience in the retail sector an asset but not required
