Overview

KPMG seeks an experienced senior manager to lead pursuits and proposals from within KPMG's Centre of Excellence established for the Canadian Federal Government subaccounts.

The objective of the position is to:
  • Lead responses to Canadian Federal Government requests (any RFx), bringing solid experience, expertise and lessons learned from similar role(s)
  • Manage pursuit teams, including partners and service line leaders, with energy, confidence and strength
  • Guide pursuit teams about how to achieve compliance consistently
  • Collaborate with a small team of proposal managers dedicated to federal bids

What you will do

  • Work with Client Service Teams (e.g., account lead partners, client service professionals, subject matter experts, business development directors) to help develop the pursuit strategy; act in an advisory capacity throughout the pursuit lifecycle
  • Act as the central point of contact in project managing the end-to-end proposal process, such as:
    • Organize / schedule kickoff meetings
    • Develop timelines and accountabilities as per deadlines
    • Help identify benefits and value-add for clients, as well as win themes and key insights
    • Make sure all administrative tasks get completed (e.g., legal counsel review of terms & conditions, security requirements review, etc.)
    • Help identify and collaborate with Subject Matter Expertise to procure relevant content and guidance
    • Help prepare oral presentation materials
    • Participate in internal team debriefs after proposal submission and support the external debrief program
  • Work closely with and take direction from service line Bid Managers on large-scale, complex bids to co-manage the proposal process
  • Assist with requirements for Task Authorizations with a quick turn-around
  • Work with other areas of practice in Marketing (i.e. Graphics, Research, National Marketing & Communications) to achieve proposal objectives
  • Ensure compliance with KPMG Brand and Regulatory requirements
  • Participate as an active member of the Pursuits Community

What you bring to the role

  • University Degree or College Diploma in an area related to writing, technical writing, or English
  • Strong and persuasive leadership skills; able to motivate others to perform
  • Established relationship-building and development skills - with internal and external clients
  • Solid written and oral communication skills in order to relay complex issues to audiences of varying seniority and expertise
  • Robust project management skills (PM certification considered an asset)
  • Collaborative and effective team player with strong interpersonal skills
  • Well-developed analytical ability and decision-making proficiency
  • Detail-oriented
  • Extremely capable of working effectively within deadlines and short-time frames
  • Ability to communicate in both Official Languages will be considered a strong asset

Required Experience
  • Three to five (3-5) years of dedicated experience in the development, management and authoring of content for proposals for the Canadian Federal Government
  • Demonstrated experience in the leadership, development and production of at least three (3) complex, large scale proposals for the Canadian Federal Government
  • Extensive knowledge of Canadian Federal Government procurement processes and policies, including knowledge and familiarity of the SACC Manual
  • Strong proficiency with MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and MS 365 platforms (Teams), and SharePoint)
  • Previous experience in a dedicated Business Development role for the Canadian Federal Government will be considered a strong asset
