Kinectrics - Nuclear Waste Management Office - Project Control Lead
    Work Location: Chalk River, Ontario, Canada
    Job Type: Long-Term Contract opportunity,
    Contract Length: 12 Month Contract (Possible Extensions)
    Work Hours: 40 hours/week, typically 8:00 am to 5:00 pm (ET), Monday to Friday.
    Planned number of positions: 1
What will you be doing !
    • Developing and implementing project reporting requirements, including Monthly Performance Reports, status updates, performance review meetings, and written deliverables.
    • Communicating project status and progress to stakeholders, including senior leadership, project team members, and external partners.
    • Developing and implementing individualized roles and responsibilities for team members while reviewing submissions for accuracy, consistency and quality.
    • Developing and managing project schedules to ensure timely completion of project deliverables and milestones.
    • Conducting critical path analysis to identify key activities that are critical to project success and ensure their timely completion.
    • Monitoring schedule progress against established baselines and adjusting schedules, as necessary, to maintain project goals.
    • Developing cost estimates and budgets for project activities, including labour, materials, equipment, and sub-contracted services.
    • Monitoring project costs and analyzing variances against established budgets, to identify cost overruns and cost efficiencies
    • Developing and implementing cost management plans, processes, and tools to control project expenditures and minimize associated risks.
    • Developing and implementing internal meetings, reviews, and communications to evaluate the need for and manage the execution of changes to project scope, schedule, and budget.
    • Serving as the primary evaluator of potential changes by analyzing and evaluating potential changes to determine their impact on project goals and overall feasibility.
    • Ensuring that change requests are socialized, reviewed and approved by appropriate internal and external stakeholders prior to implementation.
    • Developing and implementing both standardized and ad-hoc performance management processes to monitor project team progress and identify areas for improvement.
    • Conducting project team performance reviews and supplying feedback to team members to enhance their performance and contribute to development goals.
    • Developing and implementing individualized and/or team-level corrective action plans to address performance issues and ensure project success.
    • Other duties as assigned by your manager.

What We Are Looking For
    • Education

    • University degree from an accredited institution in a relevant field (e.g., Business Administration, Commerce, Finance, Engineering).
    • Project Management Professional (PMP) designation is desirable.
    • Experience

    • Ten (10) + years of relevant experience with a proven track record of successfully managing and delivering complex projects/initiatives within budget and on schedule.
    • In-depth experience implementing project management principles and methodologies such as planning and scheduling, estimating, earned value management, risk management and change control.
    • Experience with project management systems such as Primavera P6, Deltek Cobra, Oracle and others.
    • Experience leading and managing a team of individuals with multi-disciplinary skill sets.
    • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

    • Strong project management skills, including planning, budgeting, resourcing, contract management, and progress reporting.
    • Excellent team-building and consensus-reaching skills.
    • Strong interpersonal skills.
