The Opportunity:
As a Project Assistant you will have the chance to oversee and coordinate project documentation, including submittals and RFIs, with internal teams and external stakeholders, while maintaining the Procore platform and performing QA checks. Additionally, you will manage real-time updates to schedules and document registers and generate weekly reports, along with completing timesheets and expense reports for site staff.
This opportunity is to join the WSP team responsible for the execution and construction of the Port Hope Area Initiative (PHAI). The PHAI represents the federal government's response to the community-requested solution for the cleanup and local, long-term, safe management of historic low-level radioactive waste in the municipalities of Port Hope and Clarington.
Please note we will consider candidates based in various locations throughout Canada, but this opportunity is based at the project on-site in Port Hope, Ontario

What you can expect to do here:
- You will process and monitor submittals, including electronic copies of large-scale drawings and product information for specific projects.
- You will distribute, collect, log in, and log out submittals and RFIs to multiple project teams and disciplines.
- You will maintain the Procore platform with project documentation and conduct QA checks on documents before issuing them.
- You will provide live updates to the submittals schedule, document registers, and other necessary documents.
- You will maintain a documentation file of reviewed items and records of reviews.
- Additionally, you will run multiple weekly reports for each project, indicating reviewed and outstanding submittals.
What you'll bring to WSP:
- Bachelor Degree or Diploma in Business Administration, Construction Management, Project Management or Engineering is considered an assets
- Related work experience, including coordinating construction projects.
- Experience in environmental construction projects considered an asset.
- Experience working on complex projects over $5M in project value considered an asset.
- Ability to work from the project site in person daily.
- Demonstrate up to date knowledge of best practices and project management tools with an appreciation for delivering best value to clients.
- Experience managing document flow for quality assurance, permit compliance, insurance, and warranties.
- Ability to evaluate project impacts on facility operations and provide suggestions to minimize risks and for managing improvements.
- Software proficiency: MS Office, Excel and Adobe.
- Eligible for CNL Reliability Status ( individual must have 3 full years of current verifiable history in Canada, USA, UK, New Zealand and/or Australia to be eligible ).
