GHD has a great opportunity for a Senior Environmental Geoscientist / Engineer / Scientist to support our Western Canada team! Our local teams specialize in environmental engineering, waste management and water and our support by our full service engineering design center. The team supports brownfield redevelopment projects, completes environmental site assessments and remediation, provides environmental services to both public and private sector clients across Western Canada, assessing environmental impacts, completing risk assessments, and mitigating long term environmental risks through the development and monitoring of remedial systems and risk management measures.

Key responsibilities will include:
  • Supporting strategic pursuits, including growth in both the Private and Public Sectors, including the Canadian Federal Sector
  • Provide Senior Technical Leadership in project delivery
  • Provide Senior Technical Leadership with emerging contaminants, including per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS)
  • Contribute to business planning to identify opportunities to grow GHD's market share
  • Conducting environmental monitoring and environmental site assessments
  • Establishing, growing, and maintaining client relationships
  • Manage projects including budgets, project teams and timelines
  • Preparing technical environmental reports
  • Work within multi-disciplinary project teams, providing environmental advice to other GHD teams
  • Opportunity to work on local, national, and global projects, which may at times entail supporting other GHD office locations
  • Supporting and mentoring junior team members in a learning and collaborative environment

What you will bring to the team:
  • Bachelor's Degree in environmental science, environmental engineering, science, or relevant discipline relevant to environmental site assessment or remediation
  • Experience with emerging contaminants including PFAS
  • Experience in the technical delivery of investigations, management plans, environmental impact assessments
  • Experience or willingness to manage clients and communications with regulators
  • Understanding of Federal and Provincial environmental legislation
  • Excellent communication and report writing skills (both verbal and written)
  • Strong commitment to client service excellence
  • 10+ years-experience, including 3 to 5 years of project management experience with PFAS and other emerging contaminants
  • Experience working with Federal clients including client development/account management is considered a strong asset
  • B.Sc or B. Applied Sciences in science, engineering or related field
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills as well as organizational and presentation skills
