Some of what you will do

As the Payroll / Benefits Assistant, you will communicate Benefit policies and eligibility guidelines to Associates, enter and update information into the Benefit database. You will liaise with the Benefits and RRSP provider as well as support the Payroll and Benefits Administration Department with a high level of confidentiality. With each day will being fast-paced, challenging, rewarding and meaningful, you will be inspired to bring your best, every day.

Specifically, you will:
    •Identify benefit eligibility for Associates on a bi-weekly basis. Issue benefit packages to entitled Associates •Update returned enrolment forms in database and issue confirmation packages •Complete and issue long-term disability Employer Statement packages •Manage the payroll delivery packages from DayForce Ceridian payroll system, distribute reports accordingly and mail out all Ceridian generated cheques, including garnishment cheques Data entry into withholding taxes spreadsheet on a biweekly basis •Proof daily leave report and determine short-term or long-term disability eligibility for leave of absences. Update Wellness team on appropriate leave details •Liaison with RRSP provider •Administer Benefit premium payment process during Associate leave of absences

Some of what you need
    •1-3 years of administrative or equivalent experience •Payroll, benefits or finance experience an asset •2-year Community College diploma or equivalent with an emphasis on payroll/benefits/HRIS is preferred. •Excellent attention to detail •Excellent data entry skills •Proficiency in MS Excel and Word •Strong ability to plan, prioritize and meet deadlines •Good written and verbal communication skills •Curious •Approachable •Passionate •Solutions finder
