Position: Security Guard
Site: Westmount Mall
City: London, Ontario
Status: Temporary Part Time - September 4, 2024 to October 31, 2024
Pay Rate: $18.00/hr
Hours: Monday - Friday 1000-1400hrs
(no shift on PA Days, Stat Holidays, Winter or March Break)

Job Description:

Working on assigned shifts, you will work part time shifts providing proactive and reactive security patrols and response to incidents. You will be required to write reports and investigate routine incidents, as well as respond to coded emergencies in a quick and efficient manner. You should display excellent customer service skills and be able to work with people who are under stress or in need of medical assistance. In this role, it is essential that you are physically fit and able to stand and walk for long periods of time.

Job Duties:
•Responsible for ensuring the safety and protection of property, persons and information
•Tasked with patrolling property on foot
•Effective communication
•Monitor CCTV system
•Respond to calls for service in a timely and urgent manner (may be required to run)
•Attention to detail
•Report writing, deploying and collecting equipment such as Radio's and Keys
•Manage high stress and complex decision making
•Knowledge and enforcement of Trespass to Property Act (TPA)
•Enforce mall Code of Conduct in compliance with TPA

Qualifications:
•A Valid Ontario Security Guard License
•Valid First Aid & CPR - Level C
•Proficient in English (both oral and written)
•Vulnerable Sector Check

Upon hire successful applicants will be required to complete the following Paladin online courses:
•Successful completion of Paladin's online Customer Service
•Successful completion of Paladin's online Patrol Procedures
•Successful completion of Paladin's online Diversity Awareness ?
•Successful completion of Paladin's online Finding The OHS Manual
•Successful completion of Paladin's online Paladin OHS Orientation
•Successful completion of Paladin's online Dealing with People with Mental Illness
•Successful completion of Paladin's online Workplace Respect
•Successful completion of Paladin's online Slips, Trips and Falls
•Additional courses as assigned

Certification Requirements (Any)

Standard First Aid, CPR Level C
Valid Ontario Security License
