Reporting to the Manager - Service Assurance, the successful candidate provides implementation and escalation support to incident management and prevention in a 7x24 environment. You will work with a team to plan and deliver customized network management solutions to our clients. Ideally, you have a strong customer-focus with the ability to diagnose complex network problems and interface with clients and vendors for problem resolution.Please note:
This role may require 24x7 on-call tier 2/3 support with availability to work some statutory holidays, and possibly shift work. It also requires you to be available to provide guidance or support for some of the more difficult customer problems. Secret level government security clearance is required. Qualifications:Your ideal profile includes:
•Knowledge of Local Area Network (LAN)/Wide Area Network (WAN) environments, protocols, and equipment: hubs, routers, and LAN switches
•Knowledge of Cisco Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) & TC2
•Familiarity with network maintenance and acceptance procedures in a service provider environment
•Understanding best practices in network maintenance and assurance
•Broad hardware knowledge including Cisco, Juniper, Alcatel and Nortel
•Knowledge of security solutions
•Knowledge of all versions of Avaya Communication Manager and associated hardware: Professional Certification & Experience:
•Avaya Application Enablement Services
•Avaya Aura Session Manager & System Manager
•Avaya IP Office
•Avaya Aura Messaging
•Avaya Media Gateways 430/450
•Level 2/3 expertise with Cisco equipment: routing, switching, Alcatel ATM network sniffers and protocol analyzers; network troubleshooting
•Dynamic Routing/Bridging Protocols: HDLC, PPP, xDSL, SNMP, MPLS, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, RIP, Juniper ERX, M20, M40, DSLAMs
•Comprehensive understanding of VoIP Cisco call manager, private line, and private branch exchange (PBX) services
•In-depth knowledge of key network hardware and associated software: routers, switches, Domain Name System (DNS), Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) and firewalls
•Comprehensive understanding of cabling types, manufacturing, configuration and troubleshooting
•Knowledge of DHCP, Windows Internet Name Service (WINS) & Microsoft Domain Name System (DNS) Server for Windows New Technology (NT) Server & Unix platforms is an asset
•Proven working ability and excellent understanding of major network operating systems
•University degree or technical college diploma in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent
•Cisco certifications: Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), Cisco Certified Voice Professional (CCVP) or equivalent experience
•Secret level government security clearance is required
•1-3 years of experience in service assurance
•1-3 years of experience in telecommunications
