As a member of the Optimization & Procurement team within Global Partner Management (GPM), you will transform how TELUS delivers wireline services to business customers in our Eastern Canada and international markets. You will be joining a high-performing and highly-engaged group of team members across Canada & the Unite Stated of America who consistently deliver on their targets.
You'll be able to make your mark with a strong analytical mind while taking initiative to identify and deliver results on anything you put your hands on. You collaborate well with cross-functional teams across the organization and have the ability to present to our management team. Strong communication skills will help you to influence and evolve how TELUS does business across our growing portfolio.
Finally you'll have to use various systems, reporting tools, and databases to make business decisions including revenue/cost management, enhanced customer experiences, and unlocking operational efficiencies.Here's how
•Create value for TELUS by optimizing our supplier partnerships for access
•Drive network optimization opportunities and corresponding carrier cost savings initiatives
•Develop and execute a carrier and/or product migration plan that drives cost efficiencies while improving customer Likelihood to Recommend (L2R)
•Recommend optimal circuit & network design
•Work with internal and external TELUS partners to implement migrations and generate savings
•Collaborate with a cross-functional team to develop the business case and handle its execution to extend footprint to businesses in Eastern Canada
•Support carrier relations through data analysis and contract negotiation
•Participate in negotiation activities by providing strategic analysis support of our existing costs
•Participate in bid governance process for new customer business, providing input and recommendations for the optimal access strategy Qualifications:You're the missing piece of the puzzle
•Strong knowledge of current and next-generation telecommunications solutions
•Sound technical knowledge of telecommunications networks and systems including: Great-to-haves
•Internet Protocol (IP) networking
•Wide Area Network (WAN) architecture, including transport and access technology:
•Good understanding of incumbent local exchange carrier (ILEC) tariffs and commercial agreements
•Advanced knowledge of the Microsoft (MS) Office including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint with capabilities to produce presentations and data models including analytical tools, charts, graphs and pivot tables
•Analytical capabilities including the ability to collect and analyze data from various sources and to provide clearly constructed solutions
•Understanding of financial analysis including cost benefit analysis and concepts such as return on investment (ROI) and payback periods
•Ability to identify and manage risk
•Strong customer service focus with a dedication to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers
•Excellent communication skills, oral, written and presentation
•University and/or technical school degree or equivalent education and experience
•Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or higher
•Minimum 5 years of experience in telecommunications, voice/data networking and technologies
•Previous network engineering or design engineering experience
•Time-division multiplexing (TDM)
•Gigabit Ethernet (GigE)
•Network routing protocols:
•Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)
•Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS)
•Quality of Service (QoS)
•Understanding of project management fundamentals
•Bilingualism in English & French
