Purpose:
Contributes to the overall success of the Client Solutions group in Canada ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team's business strategies and objectives.  Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.
The Manager is responsible for supporting the Director, Total Wealth Solutions in the development and delivery of Total Wealth Practice Management support, The Scotiabank Women Initiative and Enriched Thinking Program as well as supporting other strategic initiatives relating to Total Wealth Strategy, Insurance, Planning, and Business and Family Wealth, working closely with key internal and external stakeholders and support functions.
 
Key Job Accountabilities:
Support key initiatives and sustainment programs that drive advisor engagement and execution of the Total Wealth strategy by:
  • Contributing to the overall success of the Enriched Thinking Program & Scotiabank Women Initiative;
  • Supporting training events across all levels of the program including event coordination, tracking attendance, collecting feedback and follow up;
  • Acting as liaison between the field and practice management/trainers and Total Wealth Managers for broad based practice management related initiatives and best practice sharing;
  • Managing Enriched Thinking website content including presentations, tools, videos and resources; and collaborate with all Scotia Wealth Management business lines to support additional ad hoc requests associated with Enriched Thinking; and
  • Providing support in developing and executing on Practice Management as it relates to Total Wealth as well as a variety of support related to other key initiatives that drive engagement in, and our ability to execute, the Total Wealth Strategy.
Manage the consistent execution of the Total Wealth Manager role by:
  • Supporting regular Total Wealth Manager meetings and professional development opportunities; and
  • annual goal development for Total Wealth Managers and support related to business planning activities;
  • Ongoing development and maintenance of business processes, templates, guides, and other supporting material;
  • Identifying best practices and success stories and ensuring they are effectively communicated;
  • Ensuring alignment of Total Wealth Manager role to Enriched Thinking sustainment;
  • Managing orientation programs for new hires; and
  • Collaborating with colleagues in reference to critical activities such as tracking, reporting, and employee onboarding.
Provide tactical support for key business and strategic planning activities by:
  • Building effective working relationships across the team and with various business lines and corporate function contacts;
  • Maintaining a high level of customer service;
  • Facilitating a culture of open and honest communication;
 
Requirements:
The ideal candidate has an understanding of the wealth management industry and experience in supporting the delivery of wealth management solutions. Additional requirements include:
  • University degree
  • At least 5 years of experience in Wealth Management
  • Experience in Brokerage is a strong asset
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
  • Competent in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Strong negotiation and relationship building skills
  • High degree of initiative  
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Strong inclination towards strategic competencies - thinking, relationships, and influencing - that will support the ability to be innovative and evolve the offering
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects at a time
  • Ability to operate as a key contributor in a team based environment
  • Strong management and communication skills with demonstrated ability to be a coach and a leader
