Purpose
The Manager, Strategic Initiatives, Global Wealth Management (GWM) Internal Control Team in Canada, will help drive and support the execution of GWM strategic goals and priorities by assisting in the analysis of monthly, quarterly and annual reporting for GWM's senior management. The Manager, Strategic Initiatives, will work closely with a diverse set of stakeholders to help manage cross-functional projects, and ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

Accountabilities
Reporting directly to the Director, GWM, Internal Control, Regulatory & Strategic Initiatives and working with GWM Senior Management, the new incumbent of the role will support and contribute to the teams ongoing leadership and management receives timely and relevant information relating to, amongst other things, risk assessment, regulatory developments, monitoring and testing results, internal audit and regulatory review results, regulatory inquires and stakeholder feedback. Specifically, these accountabilities include the following:
• Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
• Develop close working relationships with stakeholders across GWM and other businesses across the Bank to help drive and support the execution of strategic projects and initiatives.
• Design and develop/enhance innovative reporting solutions to support GWM Internal Control using Power BI and provide analytical and business insights.
• Lead and coordinate GWM Internal Control reporting deliverables by liaising with leadership and data owners from various business lines and functional groups.
• Synthesizes predictive analytics, insights and expands analytical tools and capabilities.
• Constructs meaningful data insights to help management make informed decisions.
• Support the production of all executive leadership requests (i.e. townhalls, commentary, updates) to ensure timely, accurate and relevant delivery.
• Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
• Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

Education / Experience
• 2 to 4 years of work experience in Investment Banking, Corporate Banking, Corporate Development, Management Consulting, Corporate Finance or Corporate Strategy
• Advanced experience with Microsoft Office: Excel (advanced, v-look ups and pivot tables), Visio, MS Project and Power BI / Power Apps
• Experience cleaning, managing and visualizing data
• Strong project management with experience in project planning and tracking techniques, objectives setting, planning, coordination and collateral development
• Wealth Management industry knowledge (preferred)
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required, preferably in the disciplines of Business Management, Human Resources or Communications.
• Effective communication skills and demonstrated ability to clearly communicate with senior executives and others in the organization
• Strong organization & problem-solving skills.
• A sense of ownership, commitment to ongoing improvement and ability to proactively anticipate problems and implement solutions
