Manager, Philanthropy
Jays Care Foundation | Toronto Blue Jays Baseball Club  
The Manager, Philanthropy is accountable for the development, growth and implementation of Jays Care's major gifts, individual, third-party and fan-focused fund development portfolio.  Reporting to the Director, Philanthropy, the manager will be responsible for contributing to the achievement of an annual fundraising target exceeding $10 million. 
Key Responsibilities:
Major Gifts and Individuals
  • Actively develop and implement strategies to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward donors, building a robust portfolio from the ground up
  • Create and implement creative and quality stewardship that inspires donors to make multi-year commitments and/or stretch gifts
  • Develop tailored fundraising materials, including proposals, impact reports, briefing materials, and presentations
  • Manage relationships with major donors across the Jays Care fold
  • Develop a business plan and budget for your portfolio of donors and participate in the development of the team's overall plans and pipeline, measuring results against expected outcomes
Fund Development and In-Stadium Initiatives
  • Actively develop and implement strategies to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward third-party events and donors
  • Manage a calendar of over 50 community events and provide on-going support to coordinate event details, build and develop relationships with event organizers, ensure CRA guidelines are met, and ensure events are tracked etc.
  • Liaise and support the administration and execution of volunteer committees
  • Represent Jays Care at fan-hosted and third-party fundraising events
  • Plan, execute and support in-stadium point of purchase fundraising initiatives (Merch & Ticket Sales)
  • Administer Video Board Fundraising Program
  • Research and develop new fan-focused fundraising initiatives
Donor Relations and Stewardship
  • Plan and support new initiatives that build donor relationships with individuals and major donors
  • Actively contribute to the implementation of all donor communication strategies
  • Plan and implement community support recognition strategies
  • Foster relationships with a diverse community of donors
  • Maintain up-to-date and accurate donor/prospect profiles and records of contact
  • University or College education preferred
  • Demonstrated achievements as a fundraiser or related experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of Salesforce fundraising software an asset
  • 5-7 years of experience in fundraising, donor and/or partner engagement, community investment from the private and/or non-profit sector
  • Experience working with volunteers
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task, work in a high-pressure environment and meet required deadlines
  • Commitment to service excellence and customer satisfaction
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Team Player. Ability to see the big picture goals of the organization and contribute to day-to-day tasks
  • Ability and willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
  • Understanding of and passion for the game of baseball and the Toronto Blue Jays
