The Manager, New Capabilities and Digital Innovation supports the Senior Manager to design, develop and deliver new products and services in the Payments group. This role is responsible for the end-to-end product strategy and design and will work with a broad cross-functional team to bring the design to market. In addition to being the product lead, the individual will also serve as the payment's representative on other enterprise projects, providing insights and recommendations to ensure the payments customer and employee impacts are considered within all phases of their project.

The incumbent will have a passion for elegant, intuitive design. Drawing from a foundational understanding of customer behaviour and expectations, you will design, develop, and launch new products and services that deliver better experience for our customers and in turn, new revenue for the business.

Key Accountabilities

Product & Service Design
  • Design and develop new products and services that resonate with customers and drive engagement
  • Understand customer needs and behaviour to draw insights that inform design and prioritization choices
  • Build with a human-centric, digital-first mindset that incorporates the latest in human computer interaction theory
  • Commercialize these new products and services to drive new revenue for North American Retail Payments
Prototyping & Launch
  • Lead cross functional teams to research, prototype and launch new products
  • Provide business input across technical partners (including Operations, Risk, Fraud, Channels) to influence desired outcome
  • Manage new products to scale with an aim to fail fast and sunset or transition successful products to product management team
Influencing and Relationship Management
  • Effectively communicate key messages and recommendations
  • Partner effectively across all business functions including: Marketing, Finance, Technology & Operations, Channels, Call Centre, Distribution etc. in order to ensure ongoing alignment and execute successful strategies
Risk Management
  • Perform required regulatory & risk oversight and governance for your business group/function; identify, manage and mitigate current and emerging risks; support the development of a risk management mindset in all employee.
Qualifications

Knowledge
  • Prior experience in product design and development; familiarity with design theory
  • Experience in leading and delivering complex projects within tight timelines
  • Strong external focus with ability to synthesize trends and keep pace in highly changing payments business
  • Financial acumen to develop fact-based business cases
  • Payments knowledge, in particularly, digital & emerging, preferred

Salary :

$68,000.00 - $126,000.00

Pay Type:

Salaried

The above represents BMO Financial Group's pay range and type.

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group's expected target for the first year in this position.

BMO Financial Group's total compensation package will vary based on the pay type of the position and may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards.
