RBC Investor & Treasury Services (I&TS) has excelled in the Canadian trust and custody business for more than 100 years and is recognized for our expert knowledge of the Canadian regulatory environment. Our Investment Counsellor Service (ICS) business allows high net worth clients to custody their asset while allowing RBC IT&S to maximize processing capabilities while ensuring we comply with our regulatory and/or fiduciary responsibilities

In this role, you will direct a team of administrators who are responsible for the timely acceptance, validation and preparation of client instructions and client inquiries around our Registered Products. You will collaborate with other business units and other client-facing teams to ensure delivery of positive, client-centric outcomes. In addition, you will be responsible for the overall operational soundness of the team and ensure minimal operational risk, while ensuring we are delivering the highest quality client service. Your role will include identification of process and efficiency/effectiveness improvements, problem resolution and the implementation of new initiatives and activities. You will participate in the Onboarding of new clients for Registered Accounts and the annual RIF to LIF account opening and transfer process, ensuring that all relevant registered product regulatory requirements are followed by enforcing related policies/procedures within the team and information on changes to those regulations is disseminated to staff as required. You will work with Service delivery to develop, implement and monitor new initiatives around technology, processes and service improvements.

What will you do?
  • Oversee all approval of government payments and filings. Lead and ensure all tax processing is completed on time and accurately
  • Identify and resolve reoccurring problems to ensure corrective actions and proper procedures are put in place
  • Ensure team provides timely/accurate acceptance, validation and preparation of client instructions/agreements before delivering
  • Review and, where needed, have team update desk operating procedures
  • Review and strengthen processes to ensure deliverables/accuracy requirements are being met
  • Act as SME and lead trainer for Registered products (& relationship with Finlogic), talk to governments and other business units to ensure proper understanding and filings are completed


  • What do you need to succeed?

    Must-have
  • College/University degree, plus 10+ years' relevant industry experience
  • Strong working knowledge/experience in the financial services industry, specifically in registered products (i.e., experience in paying and calculating payments including taxes required and knowledge with government filing and tax regulations and changes)
  • Proven customer service skills and demonstrated ability to work successfully in a fast-paced, high stress environment
  • Knowledge of AML, FATCA/CRS and IRS regulations
  • Must have experience dealing with government on regulatory rules and changes as well as filing remittances and taxes
