The TELUS corporate network team is constantly envisioning what the future holds and building the necessary global networks is a key strategic imperative to business success. The Corporate Network DevOps team is responsible for the design and implementation of the TELUS corporate network within the TELUS Cloud Infrastructure team. The team ensures network reliability within our Enterprise Network while supporting network simplification and the evolution of our network to support the move of services to the Cloud.

As the manager of Corporate Network DevOps, you will be responsible for charting the roadmaps and leading seasoned network architects and engineers to translate business problems and opportunities into network centric solutions. The Corporate Network DevOps team is part of the NFV DevOps team which is responsible for delivering Software Defined Infrastructure in support of virtualization and containerization of services within the TELUS Private Cloud and Public/ Hybrid Clouds.

Here's the impact you'll make and what we'll accomplish together

You'll be responsible for leading a team of network architects and engineers to develop and implement networks and automated solutions that support new and evolving services for TELUS employees and TELUS services that serve our customers. Your team's mandate spans leading the development and evolution of the TELUS data center networking fabric, corporate and virtual office connectivity, International WAN architectures, Retail store connectivity and Google Cloud connectivity across thousands of network devices. Under your leadership, the team will drive the architecture for new features and services. Guided by DevOps and cloud-native approaches, combined with a deep understanding of TELUS' technology and architectural roadmaps, you will support the team's success by defining priorities, mapping deliverables, creating a culture of reliability by design and providing thought leadership on cloud-based network deployment.

Another key priority in this role will be to stay ahead of emerging trends in software defined network technologies, cloud architectures, and proactively collaborate with peer leaders to forge integrated roadmaps and architectural foundations to power future services.

Here's how
    •Provide strategic vision, leadership and innovation to a highly technical team of management professionals •Lead, mentor and inspire a diverse team of network architects and engineers, ensuring that a DevOps and cloud-first mindset is at the forefront of all work •Instill a culture of reliability by design by driving change leadership as we support the evolution of our corporate network services •Champion high-quality network architecture development work through the creation and application of automated testing, manual testing and other quality gates as appropriate •Exemplify financial stewardship through budget planning and execution processes and governance •Build interlock across multiple project teams and business units, including program management teams, architecture experts, business analysts, quality assurance specialists, IT infrastructure teams and external vendors •Resolve issues and conflicts, and escalate to the executive level when necessary •Act as a "hands on" resource assisting your team and adjacent teams troubleshoot complex problems and incidents •Present and effectively communicate to key stakeholders including executives as it relates to project execution, program status and/or issues •Attend cross-functional strategy planning sessions, and provide updates on our current and future network capabilities and roadmaps


Qualifications:



    •University graduate with a degree in network engineering, software engineering or computer science •10+ years of experience in networking technologies and IP

You're the missing piece of the puzzle - you are / have:
    •Sound ability to translate business needs into technical solutions. •Solid experience with utilizing processes improvement frameworks and methodologies to simplify complex problems and processes. •Significant telecommunications and network operations experience. •Demonstrated understanding of core network technologies, IP, Transport, and control plane. •Working experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) architecture, design and operations. •Track record of experience relating to International WAN design and implementation. •In depth knowledge of data network architectures and topologies. •In depth knowledge of Network Fabric and SDN. •7-10 years of experience in architecture or planning of IT business network services
