The Manager, Compensation role manages the set of operational processes driving the organization's equity compensation programs, provides analysis for and updates to the material to communicate compensation programs to the Human Resources Committee of the Board, contributes to the executive compensation section of the annual information circular, and provides subject matter expertise to Finance, Legal, and Compensation team members. This position will report to the Senior Manager, Compensation.

What you will be doing:

  • Manage programs ensuring timely and accurate processing of grants, redemptions, reporting, dividend equivalents, regulatory filings, participant communications, etc.
  • Provide direction and guidance to Senior Compensation Analyst on required monthly, quarterly, annual, and ad hoc transactions and supporting processes
  • Work with Finance team to ensure accurate reporting of equity compensation
  • Consult with Legal team on plan document updates and interpretation
  • Manage day-to-day relationship with vendor
  • Validate tables and content for Executive Compensation section of the proxy circular
  • Prepare analyses and update material for Human Resources Committee of the Board
  • Continuously identify and implement process improvements in all areas


What you have:

  • University degree / College diploma in Human Resources, Business or related discipline
  • 5+ years experience with the application of equity compensation management knowledge within a large organization or consulting firm
  • Advanced knowledge of HR and Compensation theory, principles and practices
  • Canadian Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation and/or Certified Compensation Practitioner (CCP) an asset
  • The ability to produce accurate, high-quality, well-presented material suitable for review by senior executives and Board members
  • Strong quantitative analysis skills
  • Strong attention to detail, excellent communication, planning and organization skills and a continuous improvement mindset
  • Proficiency in MS Office, advanced Excel skills
  • The ability to work independently, manage multiple deliverables/deadlines, be flexible and adaptable, and work in a complex, changing work environment
