Department Overview

The CustomerLink team is responsible for enterprise customer data utilized by our key banking systems. The
CL application is the primary application and vehicle for delivering customer centric data and services to our
technology clients and business partners. Today, CL is recognized as one of the most important applications within the Bank. The technology stack is based on IMS and DB2 technology. The delivery team is actively involved in dozens of new IT projects yearly that enhance and deliver new functionality in support of various business / infrastructure sponsored initiatives. Job Description

About This Role
The CustomerLink (CL) delivery team is looking for an (Mainframe) IT Developer with proven mainframe technology experience to join the CustomerLink delivery team. The successful candidate will work on various development initiatives under the direction of a technical lead, providing quality systems solutions and support. Please see the below job description & technology requirements to be considered.
This position will help expand your knowledge, strengthen your expertise and introduce you to the inner workings of our business alongside a team of seasoned, diversely-skilled technology professionals.
Here's some of what you may be asked to perform:
  • Work with team members (analysts, developers, designers, etc.) to understand business requirements by creating project solutions to satisfy the customer needs.
  • Create and maintain high quality code consistent with standards and technology direction. Provide support during testing cycles and production deployments.
  • Ensure defect free programming by testing and debugging using available/appropriate tools; participate in peer code reviews.
  • Rigorously build and test applications. Make sure applications are free of common coding vulnerabilities (and follow standard security practices).
  • Complete unit and integration testing (per standards and design specs)
  • Contribute to project delivery plans, estimates and status updates. Provide clear and concise project status updates.
  • Identify issues, develop, and maintain processes that address and resolve them, (communicate with stakeholders as needed)
  • Follow development methodology while adhering to bank technology standards
  • Define System Design Specifications and identify system modifications required to meet project objectives.
  • Provide technical expertise during Incident Management, analyze incident reports and outages, perform impact assessment for incidents and facilitate internal and external communication throughout incident resolution
  • Participate in off hours on-call production support duties on a rotating basis


What can you bring to TD? Share your credentials, but your relevant experience and knowledge can be just as likely to get our attention. It helps if you have:
  • Undergraduate Degree or Technical Certificate.
  • 2-4 years relevant experience.
  • COBOL, DB2 experience is mandatory, IMS DC/DB, Java, Json optional
  • Familiarity with zOS 390 IBM operating environment
  • Sound to advanced knowledge of the business, technical environment, standards, processes, procedures, programming languages and operating systems.
  • Readiness and motivation (as an experienced developer and subject matter expert) to address and resolve complex issues, guide/advise/support clients, partners and project teams, often working on multiple medium-to-large sized projects.
  • Commitment to and belief in the quality of your deliverables.
