Kick-start your engineering career as an Intern, Electrical Engineering with WSP. Based in Ottawa, this internship provides hands-on exposure to real-world electrical engineering projects while you work alongside experienced professionals. You'll apply your academic knowledge to meaningful infrastructure and building projects, develop practical technical skills, and gain insight into life at a leading global engineering and professional services firm.
Your Impact
You'll make a difference by:

• Supporting the design and analysis of electrical systems for buildings and infrastructure projects.
• Assisting with the preparation of drawings, calculations, and technical documentation.
• Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to integrate electrical designs into overall project solutions.
• Participating in site visits and field observations to better understand construction practices and design implementation.
• Applying relevant codes, standards, and safety requirements under the guidance of senior engineers.
• Using engineering and design software to support project delivery and documentation.
• Learning through mentorship, feedback, and exposure to a variety of project types and clients.

The Skills That Set You Apart
You bring:

• Ongoing university education in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• Foundational understanding of electrical systems, power distribution, and controls.
• Familiarity with engineering or design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or similar (an asset).
• Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail.
• The ability to work effectively in a team-based, collaborative environment.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• A proactive attitude and eagerness to learn and grow in a professional setting.

AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $24.00 - $32.25
MB & ON: $22.50 - $30.25
NB, NL, NS, PE & QC: $21.50 - $30.25
