The Opportunity:
WSP is growing and an Intermediate Water and Wastewater Instrumentation and Controls / SCADA Designer is what we need for the Thornhill and Whitby Offices. This exciting role entails developing technical specification, drawings, wiring schematics, P&IDs, field investigations and some SCADA support on a diverse range of Water/Wastewater projects in the area East of Toronto (Pickering to Peterborough). As an I&C Designer, you will be part of a very fast-paced team pulling together interdisciplinary designs and pushing the larger team's efforts over the finish line and into construction.

What you can expect to do here:
- You'll be using your technical skills and expertise to develop technical specifications, design tender ready drawings, develop engineering lists and other support documents in the Instrumentation and Control space.
- You'll be using your I&C and SCADA expertise to assist with construction tasks such as Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) as well as other commissioning activities.
- You'll be using your SCADA skills assist and support our senior SCADA experts in the Quinte West, CKL, Peterborough area.
- You'll leverage your I&C design experience and SCADA understanding to assist and support the Electrical and Process designers integrate and interface with I&C and SCADA
What you'll bring to WSP:
- University or equivalent education or experience in Engineering.
- Minimum of 2 to 3 years experience in the industry.
- You've got access to a vehicle and have a valid Ontario drivers license.
- SCADA systems understanding (some programming experience is preferred)
- Low power electrical / electronics understanding, ability to design wiring schematics.
- You enjoy the design and engineering space and are very detail oriented and take pride in your work.
- You enjoy troubleshooting field installed systems and have a keen sense of safety
- You enjoy developing and fostering lasting relationships with clients (both internal and external)
