As the HR Consultant, you will be responsible for associate relations, performance management, special projects and corporate HR program support, administration and best practice improvements. With your communication, conflict-management, problem-solving skills and leadership, and partnerships with a variety of stakeholders, each day will be fast-paced, challenging, rewarding and meaningful.Specifically, you will:
•Build relationships within leaders and associates across the business, as a first point of contact and trusted HR business partner to provide effective counsel, feedback and coaching on a broad range of HR related issuesSome of what you need
•Partner with leaders to identify and understand strategic people issues and provide advice and expertise to develop innovative solutions
•Proactively work with the business to establish and maintain a positive and engaging work environment.
•Coach and advise Managers on employee relations issues such as Performance, Attendance Management and Workplace investigations, including compiling and preparing evidence to support appropriate recommendations. Assist with documentation and partner with managers to conduct terminations as required.
•Lead the planning and execution of HR programs and processes, including 90 day check ins, exit interviews, maternity and parental leaves, and other HR related activities.
•Interpret and analyze management information and data to assist in making appropriate business decisions based on HR metrics and trends
•Partner with Managers to create and update job descriptions as needed, to ensure they accurately reflect the requirements of the position and meet business needs. Participate in the job evaluation process as required.
•Provide advice, guidance and assistance to management and associates regarding the interpretation of Company policies. In partnership with HR leadership, audit, updates and develop new policies as required.
•Participate in Home Office Health and Safety Committee and assist the Sr. Manager, Health and Safety with any policies, programs or requirements that impact the Corporate office.
•Partner with hiring Managers and the Talent Acquisition team to hire and onboard associates. Provide input on job postings and throughout the selection process. Make recommendations to support the ongoing improvement of the recruitment experience.
•Support the administration of HR transactions in accordance with established processes, as required
•5 years of progressive experience in Human Resources Some of what you will get
•University Degree/Post Secondary Education required.
•Working towards or completed Certificate/Degree in Human Resources Management
•CHRL designation is an asset.
•Understand the need for discretion and confidentiality.
•Working knowledge of all relevant legislation including Employment Standards, Human Rights, Health and Safety etc.
•Working knowledge of Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook.
