Job Description:

This senior leadership role provides strategic oversight and first line management of enterprise crisis management and scenario testing programs. The leader is responsible for establishing and advancing scenario testing methodologies across business continuity, disaster recovery, operational resilience, and crisis management to strengthen the organization's preparedness, response, and recovery capabilities. The role also oversees the design, facilitation, and evaluation of tabletop and functional exercises, ensuring insights are translated into actionable improvements through robust after-action reporting and continuous program enhancement.This senior leadership role provides strategic oversight and first line management of enterprise crisis management and scenario testing programs.   • Lead the enterprise strategy, governance, and execution of first line crisis management and scenario testing activities across critical business functions.
  • Develop and maintain scenario testing methodologies that align business continuity, disaster recovery, operational resilience, and crisis management objectives with enterprise risk priorities and regulatory expectations.
  • Oversee and/or track exercises that occur across the Protect organization to enable a full picture of TD's muscle in the preparedness space.
  • Oversee the end-to-end design and facilitation of tabletop exercises, simulations, and functional tests that assess readiness for a range of disruptive events and complex crisis scenarios.
  • Partner with business, technology, operations, risk, security, and executive stakeholders to define credible scenarios, testing objectives, success criteria, and decision-making protocols.
  • Establish standards, frameworks, and tools for scenario development, exercise execution, issue tracking, and readiness measurement across the enterprise.
  • Direct the development of after-action reports, lessons learned, and remediation plans, ensuring identified gaps are translated into measurable corrective actions and sustainable improvements.
  • Provide strategic guidance and challenge to senior leaders on crisis preparedness, response capabilities, recovery planning, and resilience investments.
  • Monitor trends, emerging risks, and regulatory developments to continuously evolve crisis management and testing practices.
  • Build enterprise-wide awareness and capability through training, executive briefings, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team while fostering strong cross-functional collaboration and accountability.
  • Own and oversee enterprise crisis communication tools.

Skills, Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree and relevant professional certifications are preferred.
  • 12+ years of extensive senior leadership experience in crisis management, business continuity, disaster recovery, operational resilience, enterprise risk, or a related discipline within a complex organization, preferably G-SIB environments
  • Demonstrated success designing and leading enterprise scenario testing programs, including scenario methodology development, tabletop exercises, functional tests, and after-action processes.
  • Deep knowledge of crisis management frameworks, continuity planning, resilience principles, and testing practices.
  • Strong understanding of governance, regulatory expectations, and risk management requirements relevant to resilience and continuity programs.
  • Proven ability to influence executives, lead through ambiguity, and drive alignment across diverse stakeholders and functions.
  • Exceptional communication, facilitation, and analytical skills, with the ability to translate complex issues into clear strategic recommendations.
  • Experience leading teams and building organizational capability in preparedness, response, recovery, and continuous improvement.
