Site Description: This is a collection of municipal buildings owned by the City of Kingston. These offices include Utilities Kingston and Kingston Planning & Building Department.

Position: Full-Time Security Guard

Site: 1211 John Counter Blvd - John Counter Campus

Hours: Monday - Friday 2100-0500

Payrate: $22.80/hour

Overtime Method: Ontario ESA after 44 hours

Job Responsibilities:
• Patrol on foot, covering all areas systematically to ensure no vehicle or section is overlooked.
• Check all vehicle doors to ensure they are locked. Record any unlocked vehicles and take note of the vehicle details (make, model, color, license plate) and lock the doors.
• Check all facility doors (entrances, exits, storage rooms, etc.) to ensure they are locked and secure.
• Report any doors that are unlocked or appear tampered with immediately to 24/7 emergency maintenance line.
• Stay alert for any suspicious activities or individuals.
• Document all findings and incidents in a report each shift, including times and locations of each check.
• Submit a detailed report summarizing the shift's activities, including any incidents, unlocked doors, suspicious activities, and actions taken.
• Perform additional duties as required.
Job Requirements:
• Ability to work alone and be self-motivated
• Valid Ontario Security License
• Valid First Aid & CPR - Level C (from a WSIB-approved vendor)
• Valid G Class Ontario Driver's license
• Provide a 3 year uncertified driver's abstract
• 25 years or older
• 6-Month commitment to the position
• 1 year of security experience preferred, experience in Mobile or commercial security will be preferred
• English fluency (written and oral) required
• Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UoF) and Management of Aggressive Behaviour (MOAB)

• Applicants lacking these certifications can opt into Paladin's UoF/MOAB training program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position
• Please be aware: The UoF/MOAB training is not paid as it is a pre-requisite, however Paladin will cover all of the costs of the training with a 6 month commitment to the position/availability
• Attend 4 days of blended (virtual/in-class) pre-employment training at the Kingston Branch office
• Authorized to legally work in Canada

Certification Requirements (All)

Valid G Licence
Valid Security License
First Aid, CPR Level C
