Site Description: The Perth and Smiths Falls District Hospital is a fully accredited acute care health care organization located on two state-of-the-art sites. The hospital is situated in Algonquin Territory in the heart of the Rideau Canal region and proudly provides health services to more than 75,000 people in the surrounding communities.

Position: Full-Time Healthcare Security Guard - Smiths Falls Hospital

Site: Smiths Falls Hospital - 60 Cornelia St W

Hours: Continental Rotation - Nights Only - 1900-0700

Pay Rate: $21.69/hour

Job Description:
• Conduct proactive and reactive security patrols of interior and exterior areas, including in inclement weather
• Respond to emergency, medical, and fire incidents while remaining calm and professional
• Perform Patient Watch, investigate routine incidents, and enforce parking, smoking, and site by-laws
• Maintain accurate reports and notes for incidents and end-of-shift documentation
• Apply advanced de-escalation skills and enforce site policies, rules, and regulations
• Work independently or as part of a team to complete assigned tasks and support site operations
• Present a professional presence, uphold client and company expectations, and perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications:
• Valid Security License for the province of Ontario
• Valid First Aid & CPR - Level C Certificate (from a WSIB-approved provider)
• Ability to be clean shaven to pass an N95 Mask Fit Test
• Proof of COVID-19 Vaccine (minimum double vaccination)
• A copy of your immunization records (Measles, Mumps, Rubella [MMR], Varicella, and TB Skin Tests - Step 1 & 2)

• Ability to clear a Vulnerable Sector Check (during onboarding)
• 1 year of security experience (healthcare experience is strongly preferred)
• Authorized to legally work in Canada
• Must be able to provide certifications in Management of Aggressive Behaviour (MOAB) & Use of Force (UoF)

• Applicants lacking these certifications can opt into Paladin's MOAB/UoF training program in prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position
• Please be aware: The MOAB/UoF training is not paid as it is a pre-requisite, however Paladin will cover all of the costs of the training with a 6 month commitment to the position/availability
• The MOAB/UoF training will be held in Kingston, On
• Fluent English communication (oral/written) is required
• 6+ months of customer service experience is considered an asset

Certification Requirements (All)

First Aid, CPR Level C
A Valid Ontario Security Guard Licence
