Job Description

About This Role

The Fraud IT Architect provides solution architecture and technology guidance to project delivery teams as they develop client solutions. The incumbent will have key involvement in architecting solutions that will support Fraud line of business initiatives and provide architectural expertise & counsel to ensure technology teams and business areas understand the architectural options and technology choices. The IT Architect will be accountable for:

•the recommended solutions that accounts for total cost of ownership and risk,
•leveraging and/or advancing strategic Enterprise Architecture guiding principles,
•enterprise solutions and/or assets, and
•enterprise technology standards.
Meaningful work is fueled by meaningful performance and career development conversations with your manager. Here's some of what you will be expected to be accountable for:

•Subject matter expert with specialized knowledge related to architecting solutions for the Fraud line of business,
•Architectural specialist that works autonomously on complex and diverse programs, including multiple and simultaneous related projects and workstreams,
•Foresees architectural issues & gaps, identify their mitigations and escalate as required,
•Identifies emerging industry trends (i.e. future-focused),
•Influences product direction and integrates technology from an architectural perspective within the business environment,
•Participates in Architecture Governance to ensure design meets bank policies and best practices,
•Collaborates with Full Stack Architect, and other Architects, to provide details of technology solutions to the business partner that aids the development of future LOB initiatives,
•Works with external vendors and service providers as needed to ensure compliance with TD Architectural, Security, Cloud, and Data standards,
•Works closely with Technology Managers and Business & Technology Solution teams to estimate and fulfill delivery of Architecture Blueprints,
•Leverage strong research capabilities to find best of breed software, technology and solutions,
•Investigates all options and authors Architecture Assessment of Options that are then presented to business and technology partners for ratifying,
•Provides recommendations on value-added architectural improvements / enhancements,
•Develops end-to-end (cross platform/LOB) solution architecture for projects to address concerns/issues impacting technology areas within the Enterprise,
•Provides leadership and organizational awareness skills with a desire to contribute to, and drive, business strategy in light of changing technologies,
•Use excellent oral and written communication skills to document and present complex technology to business and technology peers,
•Have an in-depth knowledge of regulatory rules and / or restrictions as they relate to TDBG,
•Have an in-depth knowledge in developing mission critical systems that support the 24x7 nature of our business environment,
•A deep awareness, knowledge and experience of controls & governance issues affecting LOB and IT.

Requirements

What can you bring to TD? Share your credentials, but your relevant experience and knowledge can be just as likely to get our attention. It helps if you have:

•3+ years as a Solution Architect with experience architecting medium sized initiatives,
•Experience in data analytics, model development, data mining, data exploration, statistics, and identity linking,
•Ability to serve as the top technical individual expert who can impart knowledge of architecture related to specific domains or broad range of architecture frameworks, technologies, tools, processes, procedures and broader technologies and relevant issues,
•Knowledge of:
•TD core systems and applications,
•applying Cyber security to solutions,
•programming languages,
•industry best practices as they apply to solution architecture,
•business and associated standards,
•infrastructure and architectural design,
•architecting solutions for Microsoft Azure, and
•architectural governance.
•Interest and proven ability to work autonomously as an architectural specialist on high profile, complex and high risk technology projects with significant organizational impact.
•Good working experience in security architecture, such as: PCI, Data Encryption, Data Obfuscation, TLS, IPSEC, MPLS, RBAC, Active Directory, LDAP, SSO, SAML, OAUTH2, IAM, Intrusion Detection, Vulnerability Management, Data Security
•Good working understanding of modern web development (REST based APIs, microServices, JavaScript frameworks, html5, CSS3, etc)
•Good understanding of event driven architecture leveraging TD standards (Kafka & Azure Event Hub)
•Good understanding of big data concepts (Hadoop, HDFS, Hive, etc)
•Architecture frameworks, methodologies, and tools
•Very good working understanding of relational database systems, such as: Oracle, MS SQL and DB2 Server
•Good working understanding of noSQL databases, such as: CosmoDB, MongoDB, Cassandra
•Ability to translate Business Strategy into technology solutions
•Ability to understand and apply Technology Strategy
•Architecture concepts such as infrastructure, network, telecommunications, Disaster Recovery, Load Balancing, High Availability, Network Resiliency
•Regulatory experience
•Vendor management experience
•Case Management, Workflow Management
•Operating Systems (Linux, Windows, Mainframe), physical and virtual
•Experience architecting software packages used to support Fraud detection
