KPMG is looking for a highly motivated and passionate FinOps Cloud Engineer to drive high priority cost savings and optimization initiatives on our cloud platforms. In this role, you will be responsible for understanding challenges related to FinOps practice as well as to implement cost optimizations recommendations. This role will be part of KPMG FinOps team and actively participate in the maturation of the FinOps service.

What you will do
  • Responsible for applying cost optimization recommendations to existing and future architectures.
  • Collaborate with technical teams on cost optimization recommendations, standards, and best practices, providing consistent recommendations and oversight to team members.
  • Understand and promote KPMG's FinOps strategy, cloud cost optimization capabilities to IT and business teams.
  • Develop deep relationships with key customer IT decision makers, who drive long-term Cloud adoption within the firm to enable them to be Cloud advocates.
  • Work with our technical teams to design and implement new services in the most cost-efficient way.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to optimize cloud usage, reduce waste, and improve cost efficiencies. Analyzing cloud usage and finding cost optimization opportunities.
  • Monitor and perform daily management activities in cloud cost management applications.
What you bring to the role
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, related STEM field or work experience
  • 3+ years of administration and support of Cloud native solutions focusing on Azure IaaS, Azure PaaS Azure Databases.
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert and\\or Microsoft Azure Administrator preferred but not required.
  • FinOps Practitioner or FinOps Engineer certification preferred but not required.
  • Experience with cloud cost management applications\\services such as Apptio Cloudability, Total Cost and native cloud cost management tools (Azure, GCP & AWS)
  • Experience in configuration and implementation of cloud tagging, cost management budgeting and alerting.
  • Experience in cloud expense management using FinOps disciplines (Azure platform experience preferred).
  • Familiarity with cost structure of Azure products and services, Infrastructure-as-Code, container-based development, Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery, Continuous Deployment.
  • Significant experience working in Azure. Added experience working with AWS and GCP is a plus.
  • Proficiency in English at a business level is required.
This position requires written and oral fluency in English. The successful candidate may be required to support or collaborate with English-speaking colleagues or stakeholders while at KPMG.

KPMG BC Region Pay Range Information
The expected base salary range for this position is $69,000 to $132,600 and may be eligible for bonus awards. The determination of an applicant's base salary within this range is based on the individual's location, skills & competencies, and unique qualifications. In addition, KPMG offers a comprehensive and competitive Total Rewards program.
