The Revenue Assurance & Finance Operations team partners closely with the Consumer Solutions & Product Management teams to be the back-bone of control processes that ensure accurate and timely payment to TELUS TV content providers, royalty tariff associations and key partners. Additionally, this high performing team collaborates with our Business Units and the Controller team on numerous working capital reports and analytics.

As a Financial Analyst, you will play a key role in the analysis of monthly and trending variances and root causes, executing reporting and partnering in settlement processes.

This role will also be a key contributor in supporting existing processes to facilitate a longer term evolution strategy. This is a unique opportunity to assist building a best in class process from the ground up.

Here's how
    •Read and interpret validated contracts to determine the appropriate measures such as billing system outputs or Data Warehouse sources for revenues and develop logarithms to calculate payments •Coordinate the delivery of financial and operational data and reporting for Working Capital optimization •Prepare various financial & management performance reports and variance analysis:
      •Extract applicable revenue, financial & operational performance data from billing systems and Data Warehouse sources •Apply contractual terms to calculate revenue and payment settlement for key partners and vendors •Assist with forecasting models
    •Provide proactive decision support to leadership team by understanding their business, challenges and opportunities:
      •Resolve inquiries on payments from either internal sources or external vendor sources •Provide support on Consumer Solutions-Wireless vendor payment content process •Understand and document controls surrounding existing vendors including associated tariffs and new services; read, interpret and provide settlement insights on impact of new contracts
    •Identify, develop and implement process improvements within and across your portfolio:
      •Discuss, document and lead design solutions for new content vendors •Develop reporting output solutions to automate the approval process, uploads for the SAP Disbursements team, and the output documents to be sent to the applicable vendors
    •Participate in ad-hoc analytics, projects and initiatives

      •Top-notch analytical, financial modeling and innovative thinking skills •Familiarity with auditing controls including documentation in narrative or flowchart forms

      •Strong organizational skills with the ability to scope out difficult tasks and projects, set objectives and goals, develop schedules, prioritize multiple activities, and anticipate roadblocks •Able to manage multiple projects to meet deadlines and goals in fast-paced, ever-changing, and ambiguous environment •Strong sense of ownership and ability to make decisions and solve problems
    Engaging Communicator:
      •Ability to develop cross-functional relationships to deliver operational and client focused programs, and have excellent verbal and written communication skills
    Lifelong Learner:
      •Ability to embrace continuous learning and proactively seek opportunities for growth
    •Post-secondary education in Accounting, Financial Management, Computing Science or Information systems, or equivalent experience followed by progressive responsibilities in a telecommunications or similar environment •Working towards or completion of Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation is preferred •Minimum 2-4 years' in a telecommunications finance, customer care and/or billing environment with a high familiarity of associated products and services including ordering, provisioning and billing

    •Technical aptitude for software applications and possess an understanding of database queries (MS SQL), knowledge of database structures and data management principles •Thorough understanding of Microsoft applications (especially Microsoft (MS) Excel + VBA, MS Access) and accounting software (SAP experience is desirable) •Superior inter-personal skills, strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills
