Job Description

Are you passionate about user-centered design? Do you have an intimate understanding of responsive design best practices? If so, we are looking for an Experience Design Lead to join our Public Sites team. In this role, you'll be shaping the shopping journey, and creating personalized, intelligence-driven, and content-focused digital experiences. The ideal candidate is someone who can bring ingenuity and apply a proactive approach to solving meaningful design problems through innovation and design thinking. As a design leader at TD, you're a true expert in your field, and are comfortable in a variety of disciplines - information architecture, interaction design, visual design, and ux copywriting. You're a hands-on leader with a passion for great design and an eagerness to mentor creative talent. You have deep experience in design strategy and execution, and are a strong customer-advocate and story-teller who is at ease presenting and discussing your work with colleagues and stakeholders. You challenge old ways of thinking and put the customer at the center of everything you do.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create new experiences to address unmet customer needs and business drivers in line with TD enterprise design standards
  • Understand business requirements, and identify new and/or missing requirements
  • Craft high-quality UX deliverables, including information architectures, high-level designs, interactive prototypes, and detailed wireframes with interaction annotations for delivery
  • Oversee and provide guidance to internal designers and agency design partners
  • Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with business, product, and technology partners to ensure the delivery of industry-leading experiences
  • Promote cross-disciplinary collaboration by sharing knowledge, information, and subject matter expertise
  • Present and make recommendations to senior management and executives
  • Influence and inspire multidisciplinary and cross functional teams
  • Identify, manage and mitigate risks to the client experience; support an environment where the team freely escalated business challenges
  • Ensure an integrated design approach with other business areas and the enterprise as appropriate


Requirements
  • 7-10 years of design experience at a design agency or enterprise organization
  • Strong knowledge of product and service design
  • D egree in design or a design-related discipline (industrial design, user-centered design, visual design, design strategy, design management, human factors, psychology, human-computer interaction, etc.). P assion for great design and an eagerness to mentor creative talent
  • Advanced knowledge of business processes and operations, project methodologies, organizational practices and business transformation
  • Demonstrated experience working on public-facing, content and commerce focused digital sales and shopping experiences (could be in financial services, e-commerce, b2b, etc.)
  • Previous experience leading and providing design direction to hybrid teams of UX designers, visual designers, and copywriters
  • Excellent communicator with strong facilitation skills and experience eliciting requirements from stakeholders
  • Expertise in using software tools and windows applications
  • A strong team leader who can negotiate and influence key partners including employees
  • Aptitude in exercising sound judgment while making decisions and handle confidential information with discretion
  • A dynamic, diligent, and effective influencer with can-do attitude to exercise initiative and handle several tasks and changing priorities
  • A strong communicator with established customer experience skills who can effectively connect, both verbally and in writing, with customers and related teams in a courteous, and effective manner
