WSP is looking for a motivated person with a scientific background and excellent research and technical/academic writing skills to join our Remediation Program Management team.

The selected candidate will work on various projects in the environmental assessment and remediation of contaminated sites.

What you can expect to do here:
  • Conduct documentary research in preparation of technical deliverables;
  • Perform quantitative and qualitative data analyses and interpret results for the preparation of technical deliverables;
  • Prepare data visualization requests to different specialists (AutoCAD, ARCGIS, Visio, Surfer, and various modeling tools);
  • Write technical reports to be submitted to our clients as part of our mandates, which may include reports for environmental assessments, remediations, remedial options, execution plans, field tests, ministerial authorization requests, remediation system operations, data trend analysis reports;
  • Work as a team, in close collaboration with project managers, project directors, technical leaders, engineers and technicians, as well as a dedicated team of drafters and report production assistants;
  • Depending on skills and profile:
    • Participate in applied research and development projects;
    • Provide technical support to other disciplines involved in contaminated site management (water treatment team, modeling, etc.);
    • Contribute to the implementation or improvement of digital technologies for data acquisition and management;
    • Participate in the coordination and management of deliverables follow-up and task distribution, including the use of digital tools for deliverables follow-up.

What you'll bring to WSP:
  • A bachelor's or master's degree in science, engineering, geology, or another environmental specialty;
  • Excellent writing skills, including the ability to understand, organize, clarify, and synthesize technical information and data;
  • Experience with large datasets;
  • The ability and ease to make critical judgments;
  • Attention to detail and good adaptability;
  • A strong sense of responsibility and autonomy;
  • Excellent organizational skills;
  • Skills in communication and writing in English;
  • Considered an asset:
    • Professional designation;
    • Knowledge of Alberta, Saskatchewan and/or Manitoba Contaminated Sites Regulations and relevant Protocols and Technical Guidance documents;
    • Knowledge of visualization or database software (ARCGIS, AutoCAD, Plog/Openground, Geotab/Geotec [Sobek], EQuIS, etc.);
    • Experience with statistical analysis using common analytical software
    • Experience in fieldwork in environmental characterization and/or rehabilitation.
