We are looking for talented DevOps Engineers to help us create industry-leading end-to-end customer experiences for next-gen video and digital home solutions, incorporating superior performance, reliability and flexibility by design.

We are the Future Friendly Home Services DevOps group, responsible for the end-to-end technology development and operations of TELUS' Optik TV services, video and over-the-top services, broadband network capabilities, smart home solutions and software-defined wide area network (SD-WAN) solutions. It's an exciting time to be a part of our mission to drive better outcomes through customer-centric, state-of-the-art software platforms.

Here's how:
    •Leverage DevOps values to drive design decisions that support key operational needs such as configurability, logging and monitoring •Independently assess stakeholder engagement requirements and develop project resource needs •Facilitate/liaise at all levels within the Build/Accept teams and associated stakeholders to gather, validate and assess business and functional requirements for the service to ensure ease of implementation •Ensure business impacts are accurately captured and agreed upon by the operations teams within Build/Accept •Ensure artifacts from project should include the appropriate documentation so operational teams can easily translate the contents into a seamless service maintenance •Provide process mapping, documentation, risk assessments and mitigation plans •Coordinate all aspects of operational readiness within the impacted Build/Accept teams, including User Acceptance Testing, Ops procedures, training, metrics, First Office Application deployment, test plan creation plus execution, change and launch management •Coordinate the completion of Impact Assessments across all impacted teams •Review and report program impacts and status to operational stakeholders, including consideration of proper contingency plans •Drive implementation and execution of key business opportunities to drive efficiencies, improve processes, reduce unnecessary downtime and enable SMEs to focus on the execution •Track and report on post launch metrics including impact assessment accuracies providing guidance and support to the project execution resources to drive improvements •Maintain a strong understanding of TV applications and interdependencies between parallel activities taking place in the environment •Effectively collaborate using SAFe agile practices to deliver value


Qualifications:


You're the missing piece of the puzzle
    •At least 3 years in a DevOps role (software development or operations) with proven technical and analytical skills, as well as confidence in making technical decisions •Experience with incident management, problem management, operational excellence, within a highly available 24x7 environment •Strong understanding of systems/tools, products and services, organizational delivery capabilities, and end-to-end processes •Functional knowledge of JIRA •Strong command line skills: UNIX/Linux shells such as bash/zsh/fish or similar transferable skills like Windows PowerShell remoting/scripting •Familiarity with system and APM monitoring tools such as New Relic, Splunk, Netdata, Nagios, Prometheus, etc •Modern cloud platforms, SQL/NoSQL databases and messaging standards •Agile delivery (SAFe) practices, using DevOps best practices and a modern CI/CD pipeline •A creative approach to problem solving and the ability to work independently to manage deliverables in an environment with high levels of ambiguity •Strong verbal and written communication skills •Bachelor degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering
