TD Business Systems Analysis covers a mandate that includes (but isn't limited to) proposing technical systems to accomplish business requirements enterprise-wide. These experts build relationships with business partners and other groups of diverse subject matter experts and stakeholders (both internal and external) to:

TD Securities, the wholesale trading subsidiary of TD Bank is seeking a self-starting, motivated and high-performing individual to become a strong contributor in its dynamic technology organization. This is a prominent and complex role that will require the individual to interface with finance, operations, risk management, front office staff and other technology teams regularly.

Fixed Income Electronic Trading is part of the Fixed Income Technology Solutions group responsible for delivering:
  • Pricing of Fixed Income cash securities
  • Distribution of Fixed Income securities to market
  • Dealer-to-Dealer order execution solutions
  • Dealer-to-Client quoting solutions.
  • Automated and algorithmic trading capabilities
  • Cash risk calculation.

About This Role

We are looking for someone to embrace a broad range of tasks associated with developing application and systems solutions to address business challenges. Sitting in this position will help expand your knowledge, strengthen your expertise and introduce you to the inner workings of our business alongside a team of seasoned, diversely-skilled technology professionals.

  • Transform business requirements and research into winning delivery solutions that meet performance goals.
  • Perform systems administration: monitor, configure, back-up, authenticate, tune.
  • Contribute to project plans, estimations, and status updates.
  • Identify issues, develop and maintain processes that address and resolve them, (and be sure to communicate/alert stakeholders as needed).
  • Make enhancements and troubleshoot.
  • Proactively put forward ideas that speak to project objectives (e.g. development, testing solutions, and tools).
  • Take part in scope assessment, risk and cost analysis.
  • Respect TD's technology delivery practices and standards, project management disciplines.
  • Stay on top of state-of-health monitoring and monthly SLA targets.
  • Apply and share technical expertise during incident management life cycle (e.g. analyzes reports and outages, perform impact assessments, facilitate stakeholder communication).
  • Maintain and enhance deployment scripts to ensure easy deployment and roll back across the different environments.
  • Maintain the development tools and help with migration to the enterprise-wide solutions!
  • Coordinate promoting changes across the different environments.
  • Manage the environments and ensure all environments are in a working state on a daily basis, covering hardware, storage, network side of things.
  • Continuously improve the deployment process and building the tools to allow rapid development, deployment, automated and ensuring successful promotion.

What can you bring to TD? Share your credentials, but your relevant experience and knowledge can be just as likely to get our attention. It helps if you have:
  • Undergraduate Degree or Technical Certificate.
  • 5-7 years relevant experience.
  • Advanced and extensive knowledge of the business (or organization), technical environment, standards, processes, procedures, programming languages and operating systems.
  • Readiness and motivation (as senior or lead developer and valued subject matter expert) to address and resolve highly complex and multifaceted development-related issues, often independently.
  • Strength in coaching and advising clients, partners and project teams.
  • Commitment to and belief in the quality of your deliverables.
  • Disciplined and organized.
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to solve problems in creative ways
  • Good interpersonal skills to be able to coordinate with other team members

Key skills

  • Strong knowledge of source control software (preferably Git, Integrity, Bitbucket)
  • Strong knowledge of software change controls applicable to the banking industry
  • Strong knowledge of continuous integration tools (preferably Teamcity, Jenkins)
  • Strong knowledge of dependency management (preferably Nexus, Maven, Gradle)
  • Strong working knowledge of Linux OS (RHEL 7.x, 8.x/9.x)
  • Familiarity with code review tools (preferably Crucible)
  • Shell scripting
  • Windows batch scripting
  • Python
  • Experience with Agile delivery process.
  • Knowledge in server hardware, understanding of network topologies.

Nice to have:

  • Knowledge in automated testing tools
  • Experience with packaging windows application and configuration.
  • Atlassian suite (Confluence, JIRA, Stash)
  • Ansible automation experience
  • Cloud platforms/technologies
