WSP's Building/Transportation M&E Team is currently seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our Electrical team, located in Thornhill office. Reporting to Electrical Group Manager, the Electrical Engineer will play an integral role in the delivery and execution of complex, challenging and innovative projects.

From a technical perspective, the Electrical Engineer will be an established technical resource, mentoring and guiding junior engineers and EITs in the production of engineering drawings and design. In addition, the Electrical Engineer will provide input in client and stakeholder meetings, representing and championing the WSP brand and mission objectives under direct supervision of senior engineers or discipline lead.

This is an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Engineer looking to work with autonomy on some of Canada's most future-forward engineering projects. The successful candidate should be familiar with a variety of transportation, municipal, institutional, healthcare and commercial building projects. The individual will be responsible to prepare calculation, conceptual and detail design, technical specification, installation details, permit / tender / post-tender services on various transportation projects, and perform contract admin (CA) services to review shop drawings, RFI's, etc.?

A day in the life:

• Electrical design of power distribution, fire alarm, grounding, lightning protection, emergency power and generators for land, air, and water transportation projects including but not limited to GO Metrolinx, TTC, YRT, CN, CP, GTAA, etc.

• Complete understanding of Electrical Engineering requirements for Building and Site design;

• Ability to perform interdisciplinary coordination with Lighting, Mechanical, Structural, Civil, Site Services, Signaling, Architectural, Project Management, and Construction Management disciplines per project requirement;

• Prepare and review AutoCAD and Revit 3D models for all electrical systems as mentioned above; perform clash detection with Revit 3D for find interdisciplinary 3D model clashes;

• Perform individually and as a team member within the electrical discipline;

• Some knowledge of project management requirement including: reporting, financials, and resourcing to help with project managers, Senior Engineers, and Electrical Manager;

• Take ownership of small size projects as a project manager and design engineer throughout the project life cycle
