A career in PwC Canada's Power and Utilities practice will allow you to join a global network of subject matter and industry experts (our Community of Solvers) who partner with our clients to solve some of the most complex challenges facing the sector - ensuring success in the evolving energy ecosystem. \n\nWe are looking for a Director to be a part of our Transformation Risk and Advisory team with a full time focus on the Utilities industry. This individual will bring a strong IT projects or capital project transformation experience to the job and will help broaden our current footprint within the power and utilities market.\n \nOur transformation risk and advisory practice focuses on assisting clients that are going through large transformations ($100 Mil - $5 bil) by providing services that cover transformation strategy, transformation risk management, transformation program management or other related services. The core focus of this team is to work with clients that are going through large transformation programs and help them make these programs successful. We bring an integrated people, process and technology approach to these projects and can support the client from "strategy to execution" with their transformation program.

As a Director within our TRA practice focusing on the the Utilities sector, you'll work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve complex business issues from strategy to execution. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Build new relationships and leverage existing relationships within the Utilities industry to identify large transformation programs where PwC can take a Transformation Risk & Advisory role
• Understand the key trends within the utilities industry so you can help translate those into opportunities for PwC
• Work as the "glue" that connects our TRA practice and the utilities industry in a seamless fashion
• Identify gaps in the market and spot opportunities to create value propositions.
• Promote and encourage others to value difference when working in diverse teams.
• Proactively lead client relationships and support the broader Power & Utilities practice by helping to set strategy, drive the development of new business in the market, and provide technical advice across disciplines
• Manage the end-to-end delivery (including project economics) of multiple consulting projects comprising multiple resources and teams.
• Building strong networks within the firm to spot help ensure our clients see the best of PwC
• Lead pursuit teams and proposal development including innovative approaches and methodologies tailored to address specific client requirements
• Ensure the quality of deliverables and that clients are satisfied with the work
• Grow and develop our team through hands on training and coaching
• Stay abreast of key industry developments both within Canada and globally
• Understand the operational implications of client's strategies
• Define and develop new consultant assets and accelerators to support our services
• Help clients develop business cases and justifications for transformational projects
• Communicate complex material effectively in written and oral formats to various audiences
• Manage an engagement team to the production of quality deliverables on time and on budget and in line with client expectations and internal standards

Experiences and skills you'll use to solve


• A national focus on utilities related large transformation programs across the country
• The ability to collaborate across multiple dimensions and parts of the PwC organization
• An interest in upskilling for a digital world and technology trends, an openness to learning new tools and adapting how you work
• A demonstrated commitment to valuing differences, developing and coaching diverse teams, and ensuring diverse perspectives are heard
• Extensive experience from a management consulting background demonstrating knowledge of strategy, operations and technology used in asset-intensive clients to serve their customers and stakeholders
• Deep sector subject matter in utilities gained either through direct industry employment or extensive services to industry
• Credibility with clients by demonstrating subject matter expertise and knowledge in the operation processes of electricity generation transmission, distribution and/or customer engagement
• Ability to understand and articulate leading practices in one or more utility functions, including: plant operations, network operations, outage response, asset management, work management, field services, customer engagement, customer billing, and metering.
• Hands-on experience justifying, managing or delivering large business and IT transformations and full life-cycle projects
• Proven track record of managing and delivering significant business results that reflects strategic and creative thinking, individual initiative and motivating teams
• Ability to develop and manage strategic client relationships while providing the highest quality client work across multiple client projects
• Demonstrated capability in thought leadership, new business development and securing project extensions, including client lead maturation, proposal development, and closing new business opportunities
• Excellent leadership, organizational and verbal and written communication skills
• Proven leader with extensive abilities to build solid and collaborative relationships with team members, foster a productive teamwork environment, and leverage diverse views
• Bilingual proficiency in French and English is considered an asset
