If so, we'd love to have you lead our awesome DevOps team that is unlocking the potential of new technologies to enable remarkable entertainment and digital home experiences for Canadians. In turn, we hope you'll enjoy being a valued member of Canada's #1 global workplace with a world-leading culture, extensive community-giving initiatives, flexible work program and competitive benefits.

Join our team

With the convergence of innovative home and mobile networking technologies including fibre and 5G, smart home solutions, mobile devices, automation, cloud computing, and over-the-top capabilities, our customers' homes look very different in today's digital world. Every day, TELUS' engineering and development teams are envisioning what the future holds and building the technologies to simplify our customers' lives, provide services at the touch of a button, and create immersive entertainment experiences.

As Director of our Client and Cloud Entertainment Applications team, you will be at the helm of this innovation - cracking the code on rapidly-changing customer expectations, seizing emerging digital trends, and building and evolving digital home and TV/video platforms and features using Agile development processes. The Client and Cloud Entertainment Applications team is a part of our Future Friendly Home Services DevOps team, which is responsible for the end-to-end technology development and operations of TELUS' Optik TV services, video and over-the-top services, broadband network capabilities, smart home solutions, and software defined wide area network (SD-WAN) solutions.

This is an exciting time to be a part of our mission to drive better outcomes through state-of-the art software platforms. The possibilities are endless and we're looking for a software enthusiast and self-starter who is filled with ideas as well as the delivery-focused mindset to execute them!

Here's the impact you'll make and what we'll accomplish together

You'll be responsible for leading a team of software developers and engineers to develop and implement platforms and microservice-based architectures that support new and evolving entertainment and digital home services across TELUS' Future Friendly Home line of business. Importantly, your passion for clean, superior-quality code will drive the creation and enhancement of both core back-end capabilities as well as front-end customer solutions. While software already forms the basis for many elements of our services, you'll help expand the depth and breadth of software development across our platforms as we envision and build the next generation of digital home and entertainment solutions for Canadians.

Cloud-based and client-centric applications will be your team's everyday focus. Guided by DevOps and cloud-native approaches, combined with a deep understanding of TELUS' technology and architectural roadmaps, you will lead and mentor this high-performing team to deliver innovative applications based on modern microservice-based architectures and the latest advances in devices and client development capabilities. Ultimately, we're counting on you to be a visionary software leader who can bring a breath of fresh air to our platforms and customer services!
