What is the opportunity?

The Director, Infra Strategy will be part of the TI Strategic Management Team (SMT) and will be responsible for working with specific technology pillars and SME's (End User Services/Telecom & Network Services) to link between pillar and functional strategies and connect them to the TI strategy and business objectives through adequate member representation of key infrastructure initiatives

In partnership with each TI pillar the TI strategic management team's key priorities include:
  • Enable 'one' TI strategy aligned to business outcomes and innovation in the space
  • Prioritize high value initiatives and ensure established KPI's and outcomes are achieved through an adaptive and agile approach
  • Generate awareness and buy in for TI strategy internally & externally through effective communication and collaboration


This is aligned to TI/T&O critical business outcomes of Client Experience, One RBC, Speed to Market, High Availability and Cost Transparency and Efficiency Levers.

This is an individual contributor role.

What will you do?

Strategy Thought Leadership

  • Manage day to day decisions pertaining to updates, communication, KPI tracking, issue resolution / escalation etc. across key initiatives; challenge and track initiatives and KPI's to ensure accountability, and track/escalate any asks on additional resources/support needed
  • Proactively address interdependencies and resolve issues / barriers to ensure timelines are being within budget; maintain a centralized view of the budget to make funding allocation recommendations based on value
  • Provide a consistent, single view of progress and reporting metrics to the TI OC rep; escalate any relevant issues / decisions / interdependencies to the TI OC rep
  • Articulate the crystal-clear importance of transformation and progress on initiatives, internally within TI and externally to business stakeholders to generate awareness and buy in
  • Gain an opportunity to set the strategic direction for TI & have a training ground to be future TI leaders


Stakeholder Management

  • Build and maintain extremely strong relationships with TI pillars heads; be the trusted advisor; build a deep knowledge base of the platform and help to stitch together an enterprise view for key business partners, always championing a One-RBC approach
  • Leverage knowledge and experience to conduct impactful conversations with senior executives; ability to monitor, listen and adapt to different situations and interactions


Governance & Oversight:

  • Key escalation point to solve any issues;overall accountability to ensure engagements are delivered on time and achieve the impact required; continued partnership with each pillar and alignment with pillar heads


What do you need to succeed?

Must have:

  • Deep expertise of certain aspects of technology/infrastructure and broader understanding of other aspects along with 5-7+ years of experience developing and applying some of the leading practices in:
    • Technology Strategy within End User Services/Telecom & Network Services
    • Leading teams that delivered transformational change in a large, matrixed environment
    • Business strategy roles
  • Expert ability to partner and impact senior leaders in large, complex, matrix organizations
  • Strong strategic thinking and Business Leadership - is perceived as a thought leader by senior Executives and keen ability to facilitate the development of a vision for the overall success of a specific business area, or function; eemonstrate the RBC Leadership Capabilities and Key Behaviors
  • Superior relationship management, facilitation, presentation and negotiation skills; client oriented and innovative mindset with technical problem solving; effective and persuasive change agent
  • Behavioural Skills:
