As a member of the Core Network Planning & Engineering team, you will be responsible for both TDM voice and VoIP traffic planning to support Large Complex Deals (LCDs) and to contribute to cross functional teams by developing impact assessments and implementing traffic engineering solutions in support of corporate projects.Here's the impact you'll make and what we'll accomplish together
Be part of a team that is accountable for the timely development, communication and implementation of voice traffic and trunk routing plans, traffic modeling & optimization and various assessments that directly impact the quality and reliability of our voice network.
These traffic/trunk routing plans and modeling provide the capacity and reliability required and expected by our customers. YOU will support and align with corporate objectives and strategies within the constraints of regulatory requirements, utilization and modernization objectives.Here's how
•Monitor, trend and analyze network trunk utilization and develop traffic optimization plan, etc., for the national voice networks (ILEC/CLEC, Local/IXC, IP Trunking)
•Understand the cost structure of the traffic originating and terminating based on tariff, peering, bi-lateral settlement; develop recommendations to prevent network trunk and traffic congestions and to achieve cost saving
•Work with IP Engineer and/or Switch Engineer to define VoIP NGN network utilization metrics; plan Network-to-Network Interface (NNI) inter-carrier interconnection builds; develop requirements, performance reports, BCP and DSD for the VoIP networks including major client networks
•Develop Trunking and Routing plans (TRPs) in support of traffic migrations, tactical plans, new service initiatives, and network evolution
•Develop analytical traffic modeling to optimize network flow distribution considering cost, reliability and efficiency; assist in maintaining an accurate and reliable Trunking and Routing databaseQualifications:You're the missing piece of the puzzle
•Knowledge of Traffic Engineering, Traffic modeling, fixed and variable costs modeling and enhanced voice and data network services and applications
•Knowledge in various predictive modeling and data mining techniques using supporting tools such as SPLUNK and/or Tableau to ensure effective solutions to traffic planning
•Hands-on experience in Statistical Analysis System (SAS), Hive, Python, SQL or any other data query language on UNIX/PC and comfortable working with large data sets and databases
•Understanding of VoIP protocols and next generation multimedia architecture: SIP, RTP, ENUM, SIGTRAN, IMS, CSCF, MGW, SBC, etc
•University degree in Electronics, Electrical, Computer Science or Telecommunications preferred or equivalent proven industry experience Great-to-have
