Purpose of Job:
The Credit Solutions Analyst focuses on the lending business under International Private Banking. The position is a support role that is crucial for the maintenance and growth of the loan portfolio - largely offshore, however with impact on PAC and CCAU as well. The incumbent performs the collateral monitoring for offshore loans, reviews coverage for loan funding and portfolio releases, prepares loan and security documentation, processes credit facility set-ups and funding requests, among others. This role works directly with Credit Solutions portfolio managers, Private Bankers and associates, Operations, among other support units.

Major Accountabilities:
1. Loan Portfolio Administration and Monitoring
Performs day to day duties related to an adequate management of IPB's loan portfolio, such as:
Monitor IPB-TO loan portfolio's collateral coverage, identify offsides (existing and potential), review collateral details, and action accordingly
Analyze portfolio limits, collateral coverage, among others to ensure loan fundings and/or collateral releases maintain the unit operating under credit approvals and with sufficient coverage.
Manage IPB-TO loans Credit Solutions tracking tool including annual review dates, credit proposals status, volumes and productivity. Advises team members in Credit Solutions and International Private Bankers accordingly
Manages Total Wealth accesses and accounts for International Private Banking (offshore and onshore loans)
Supports the Credit Solutions portfolio managers with credit proposals or account management as appropriate.
2. Loan Documentation
Ensures loan documentation is executed and maintained in line with credit approval. Accountabilities include:
Prepare loan and security documentation package for custom credits ensuring that these are fully compliant with credit approval
Share documentation with Private Banker and Credit Solution portfolio managers and ensures duly execution in due course.
Review executed documents and integrity of such. Confirm full execution to Operations.
Administer copies of loan documentation for Credit Solutions
Others related to loan documentation
3. Operations
Liaise with Doc Centre and BSC to ensure correct facility set-up and funding of credit facilities, maintenance, and facility closing as appropriate.
Submits set-up and first funding requests
4. Supports the Credit Solutions and International Private Banking team with reporting requirements and loan portfolio management, such as:
Total Wealth reports, including collateral coverage and buffer
Offside reports
Loan pipeline and Salesforce reports
Annual Review schedule and productivity reports
Monitors special credit conditions
Proactively looks for ways to improve the credit process

Education/Work Experience
3-5 years of experience in the Banking industry, ideally with a mix of business and operations.
University degree in business, accounting or a related discipline.
The incumbent must have knowledge of the of the broad Wealth Management offering, including the offering of International Private Banking and the services of ScotiaMcLeod
Familiarity with the Bank's internal systems i.e. CIS, OLL System, Total Wealth, Credit Fulfillment, SalesForce, Branch Forms
General knowledge of Lending, credit risk, and Investments required
Fluency in Spanish is required
Skilled re. problem solving, attention to detail, analysis, and ability to prioritize and multitask
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Capable of working independently and as a member of a team
Strong understanding of the administration of credit, loan documentation and security provision requirements
A high degree of flexibility is required to adapt to a wide variety of tasks and functions
Capacity to work
Strong PC skills, including MS Office, are required
