A career within Technology Strategy services, will provide you with the opportunity to help organisations develop strategies that transform their technology capabilities and solve their most critical challenges. We focus on building technology enabled and agile operating models, planning their new enterprise architecture into a differentiating capability system that helps them win in the market, leveraging digital analytics to enhance the customer experience and optimising business operations, and using modern management techniques such as robotic process automation and next generation sourcing strategies to help our clients get fit for growth.

As a Director, you'll work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve complex business issues from strategy to execution. PwC Professional skills and responsibilities for this management level include but are not limited to:

What you'll create and do

  • Proactively lead the practice by setting strategy, drive the development of new business in the market, and provide technical advice across disciplines
  • Building strong networks within the firm to spot and capitalise on opportunities to get involved in projects that others are leading across a number of different business units and sectors
  • Identifying and discussing key issues with our clients to identify potential opportunities
  • Responsible for a majority of day to day client communications
  • Responsibility to shape and deliver various projects that exceed the expectations of our clients and our own assignment quality criteria
  • Manage and deliver large projects by developing the project team, assessing engagement risks throughout, driving conclusions, and reviewing / challenging the output produced by the team
  • Responsibility for management of engagement financials
  • Helping to grow and develop our team through hands on training and coaching
  • Lead large, multi-disciplinary teams in the delivery of exceptional services and outcomes to our clients;
  • Be accountable for all aspects of project delivery, quality and economics.
  • Develop innovative solutions for our clients complex business and technology issues;
  • Collaborate on client issues and business opportunities with your PwC colleagues locally, nationally and internationally;
  • Maintain existing and develop new client relationships through active participation and presence in the local market;
  • Continue to evolve and enhance your profile in the local market; and,
  • Identify, pursue and close new opportunities with new and existing clients.

  • What you'll bring to this role

  • An interest in upskilling for a digital world and technology trends, an openness to learning new tools and adapting how you work
  • 10 or more years in one or more areas in IT, including Transformation, Sourcing, and/or Strategy.
  • Experience leading complex transformational and/or modernization programs built around procurement of technology solutions. 
  • Experience developing IT strategies and roadmaps, including comfort with various frameworks and methodologies, to enable the client to deliver as-is, future state and transformed services.
  • Experience developing Shared Services and/or Outsourcing strategic plans, including options analysis (benefits, risks, mitigations across various delivery options). 
  • Experience developing Shared Services and/or Outsourcing business cases, including greenfield transformation modelling, existing contract reviews, and execution of benchmarking clauses within existing contracts. 
  • Experience developing solicitation documentation (e.g. RFP materials, evaluation criteria, etc.). 
  • Experience with vendor relationship management, including processes, best practices, and governance structure. 
  • Experience with contract negotiations, including an understanding of standard clauses/SLAs, major risk areas, and approaches to achieving favourable outcomes for all parties. 
  • Understands the vendor landscape, including major players in the technology outsourcing market and their core offerings. 
  • Experience related to the regular maintenance, processes, and operations of an organization's IT environment.
