WorkSafeBC is looking for a highly motivated two (2) x Co-op Student, Marketing & Communications who are passionate about the customer experience and loves finding insights in order to make an impact using marketing and communication tools to contribute to the execution of our internal communication strategies. In this role, you'll craft and deliver a range of written materials across a variety of channels to support WorkSafeBC's overall strategic plan

This is a temporary eight-month full-time position starting in May 2026.

Where you'll work
At WorkSafeBC, we offer a hybrid work model that combines the convenience of working remotely with the dynamism of working in one of our offices, based on the operational needs of the position.

You'll work as a team member of WorkSafeBC's Communications department. You'll work primarily from your B.C. home and be on-site in our Richmond office at least once a month or based on operational needs.

In this role, you'll work three (3) days a week in our Richmond office.
  • Conduct research and obtain information by reviewing documentation, summarizing key points, and connecting with internal subject matter experts.
  • Collaborate with and interview internal stakeholders to understand their communication needs and craft key messages.
  • Draft communication materials to support the needs of employees at WorkSafeBC, and of B.C.'s workers and their employers.
  • Synthesize and summarize information into various formats that are accessible to the audience.
  • Draft tactical communication plans to support the release of information to various audiences.
We're looking for someone who can:
  • Clearly and concisely explain and summarize information at a level appropriate to the intended audience.
  • Craft a variety of materials (e.g., news stories, announcements, and script notes) that inform and engage employees.
  • Communicate and effectively interact with employees in various roles across WorkSafeBC.
  • Demonstrate strong organizational, inter-personal, and multi-tasking skills.
  • Demonstrate curiosity, creativity, and an enthusiasm for learning.
  • Be open to receiving constructive feedback.
  • Demonstrate self-motivation and an ability to work autonomously.

Your background and experience
  • Currently enrolled in a Co-operative education program.
  • Currently enrolled in a journalism, communications, Public Relations or similarly related program.
  • Have an aptitude and ability to learn new technologies is an asset.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office software suite (Excel, Word) is required.
  • Previous co-op or relevant work experience is an asset.

Our Benefits
