Job Description

Business Sales Consultant, POS

Our company was built on the dream of a pioneering entrepreneur, and that spirit continues to empower our work with businesses across Canada today. The Rogers Business team helps organizations of all sizes adapt, scale, and win with network services and other innovative technology solutions that are reliable, secure, and scalable. These solutions are built to allow businesses to operate more efficiently, reduce costs and improve productivity and collaboration. We are looking for team members who have a passion for delivering industry-leading value to customers and businesses in the communities where we live and work, so come build a rewarding career at Rogers and be a driving force behind our success story!

Rogers Business is seeking experienced Point of Sale Growth Specialists to accelerate adoption of Rogers Point of Sale solutions across Canada. This role balances three core areas: converting assigned inbound and marketing-generated leads, creating opportunities through proactive field activity, and supporting direct sellers as a trusted payments expert on qualified customer opportunities.

Specialists will manage their own opportunities from discovery through activation, maintain a consistent in-market presence with merchants and local business networks, and collaborate with direct sellers on deals that benefit from deeper payments expertise. On assisted opportunities, the direct seller remains the customer relationship owner while the specialist provides payment discovery, solution guidance and support throughout the sales cycle.
What You'll Do Convert Inbound Demand
  • Engage assigned digital and marketing-generated opportunities quickly and professionally.
  • Conduct discovery to understand the merchant business, current payment environment, operational needs and growth goals.
  • Recommend an appropriate Rogers Point of Sale solution and move qualified opportunities through the sales cycle to activation.
  • Maintain complete, accurate and timely opportunity records and next steps.
Partner with SMB Sellers
  • Support direct sellers with discovery, qualification, customer presentations, demonstrations, statement reviews and objection handling while maintaining clearly documented ownership, handoffs and next steps.
  • Join qualified customer conversations as the payments expert while reinforcing the direct seller as the relationship owner.
  • Help sellers identify RPoS opportunities within new and existing customer conversations.
  • Provide clear deal guidance, next steps and ownership at each stage of an assisted opportunity.
Deliver Payments Expertise
  • Explain payment processing, merchant acquiring, pricing considerations and POS capabilities in clear business language.
  • Assess competitive scenarios and help customers evaluate the operational and commercial value of changing providers.
  • Set accurate expectations regarding application, compliance, credit review, order submission, installation and activation.
  • Stay current on payments trends, competitor offerings and relevant merchant needs.
Build Sales Capability
  • Lead office hours, deal clinics, demonstrations and short coaching sessions for SMB sellers.
  • Share repeatable talk tracks, success stories, competitive insights and lessons from the field.
  • Provide feedback to leadership and cross-functional partners on recurring customer, process and product barriers.
What You Bring Required Qualifications
  • Experience selling payment processing, merchant services, financial technology or point-of-sale solutions.
  • Demonstrated consultative selling and opportunity-management skills.
  • Experience engaging business owners and senior decision-makers.
  • Ability to explain payment concepts, pricing and operational value in clear customer language.
  • Strong discovery, presentation, negotiation and objection-handling skills.
  • Collaborative working style and comfort operating in an assisted-selling model.
  • Strong CRM discipline, organization and follow-through.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience reviewing merchant statements or supporting competitive payment-provider takeouts.
  • Experience selling to restaurant, retail, hospitality, professional services, or health and wellness merchants.
How Success Will Be Measured
  • Activation and conversion performance for assigned inbound opportunities.
  • Assisted activations and measurable contribution to field-led opportunities.
  • Pipeline accuracy and completeness, follow-up discipline, speed to initial customer engagement and progression of qualified opportunities through defined sales stages.
  • Growth in seller confidence, participation and repeat selling within the supported portfolio.
  • Customer experience and effective collaboration with direct sellers and partners.
Who Will Thrive in This Role
This role is suited to a payments professional who enjoys both closing business and helping others win. The strongest candidates will be curious, financially confident, customer-focused and comfortable moving between independent ownership and team selling. They will view the success of the full SMB portfolio as a shared outcome.

To protect our people, brand and assets, a pre-employment background check will be conducted. As part of our selection process, all candidates must clear a criminal background check. Additionally, a credit check and drivers abstract may be required depending on the role.
