What will your typical day look like?

We are looking for an experienced sales professional to support our growing Deloitte Indirect Tax Recovery practice. The individual will focus on our market position, and lead sales and account management activities.

You will report to Indirect tax National Service line leader or his/her designate with respect to your market facing and sales activities.

Working with the Partners and Senior Managers, the primary role of the position will be to develop relationships with senior (tax) executives in target companies for the purpose of building our top line revenue. Client opportunities will be identified and discussed as a team before they are pursued.

You will initiate and lead interdependent relationship building and sales activities at a number of prospective target accounts. You will help build the sales culture of the firm as a key member of the Deloitte Indirect tax team.

As a Business Developer your Specific responsibilities will be:
  • Participate in the development of the target list and execution of sales strategies including driving key sales campaigns and initiatives;
  • Plan and execute relationship and sales calls, proposal development and manage the sales closing process;
  • Maintain ongoing account and opportunity status reporting using the firm's CRM system;
  • Generate sales leads/opportunities by developing relationships in the business community, engaging with Deloitte colleagues in this process as often as possible;
  • Develop strong working relationships with Deloitte Partners for assigned targets and clients;
  • Additionally, you will actively participate in the continuous improvement of our sales operations including, go-to marketinitiatives, innovating our offering and our overall sales strategy.

You are someone with:
  • Minimum 5 years of sales experience, ideally in selling professional or advisory services, with a strong focus on long-term client relationships rather than transactional selling.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand complex business environments, identify client pain points, and engage confidently and thoughtfully with senior business leaders.
  • Proven strength in building trusted, credibility-based relationships through authenticity, strong listening skills, and a consultative, value-driven approach.
  • Consummate professional in relationship management and strategic selling; personable, positive, well-presented, and polished, with the ability to make others comfortable and confident.
  • Naturally outgoing and engaging, with strong emotional intelligence and the judgment to adapt style appropriately.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively within diverse, cross-functional teams.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to convey complex ideas clearly and professionally.
  • Detail oriented, excellent project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and follow through on commitments.
  • Self-starter who is proactive, independent, and accountable, while maintaining a team-oriented mindset.

Total Rewards

The salary range for this position is $84,000 - $140,000 at the Manager level and $116,000 - $215,000 at the Senior Manager Level, and individuals may be eligible to participate in our bonus program.
