Our team leads technology capital management within the Technology Strategy business unit (i.e. Planning & Project Management).

Technology Strategy (TS) is at the heart of building TELUS' next-generation technology roadmap and driving TELUS' multi-billion dollar investments in best-in-class network and technology solutions.

As a Business Consultant, you will be an integral part of the Network Transformation Capital Management team within Technology Strategy. Together, this team manages technology capital investments for all of TELUS including wireless and wireline networks. Each day, we see the big picture of projects, and conduct in-depth analysis accordingly. We work with the Planning and Project Management organizations and Investment & Program Management (I&PM) group to provide direction, leadership and continual improvement for the network capital program.

Reporting to the Director - Technology Strategy, you will take on many exciting opportunities:
    Capital Investment Transformation:
      •Lead the evolution of the portfolio and program performance governance model •Develop the 2019 investment value framework across TS and other business units •Lead the 2019 capital planning prioritization process •Lead strategic analysis to monitor capital execution, support data driven prioritization decisions and drive strategic choices on capital investments driven by program performance •Manage ongoing efforts around program performance measurement and investment rebalancing to drive higher returns •Drive the development and information management for unit cost modelling, returns based analyses and capital efficiency programs
    Analytical Thinker:
      •Develop returns and performance based prioritization frameworks to support optimal capital investments •Manage detailed analytics to support the development and execution of capital efficiency programs •Support the continual development and management of existing and new capital processes and tools •Enhance driver-based models to facilitate investment decisions
    Collaborative Communicator:
      •Ability to articulate a compelling story via powerful business cases and presentations, and supporting the teams within your portfolio in producing the same •Develop and lead deep dives to further evolve program performance reporting methodology •Be the governing arm supporting investment prioritization across effectively performing programs •Lead reviews with the planning and operational teams on capital and operating metrics •Lead cross team planning reviews to ensure programs are interlocked end-to-end •Support ad-hoc projects and initiatives


Qualifications:


You're the missing piece of the puzzle
    •10+ years of demonstrated progressive experience in a related field •Confident in engaging a broad set of stakeholders and collaborating with all levels of the leadership team •Advanced experience in building business cases and strategic documents •Comfortable managing ambiguity and ability to synthesize complex information into meaningful information and recommendations •Ability to lead change, promote innovation and engage others to implement optimal solutions •Advanced experience in data analysis working with advanced functions in Microsoft (MS) Excel (pivot, macros and data analytic tools) •Passion for lifelong learning, innovation and continuous improvement •Bachelor degree in Business, Computer Science or Engineering

Great-to-haves
    •Strong knowledge and working experience in the telecommunications industry •Working knowledge of SAP, Tableau •Business intelligence and analytics experience •Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree
