As a Backend Developer you will design, build, and extend server-side services that power core product functionality. You will handle data processing, business logic, and system integrations that support user journeys.

What will your typical day look like?

• Develop and maintain scalable backend services and APIs
• Build and extend microservices within an existing architecture
• Design and expose APIs consumed by frontend and other systems
• Ensure system reliability, performance, and resilience
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment
• Design, implement, and maintain cloud infrastructure in AWS using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate build, test, and deployment processes
• Implement containerization and orchestration solutions to ensure reliable and scalable application deployments
• Support backend services and contribute to development efforts (Java / Spring Boot) once infrastructure is established
• Monitor system performance, availability, and reliability, and proactively address issues
• Implement logging, monitoring, and alerting to ensure operational visibility
• Improve system scalability, security, and resilience across environments
• Collaborate with developers, architects, and product teams to support efficient delivery and deployment workflows
• Support release management, environment configuration, and deployment processes
• Troubleshoot production issues and help maintain system stability

Required Skills & Experience

• 8+ years of experience with Java and Spring Boot
• Strong experience building microservices architectures
• Proven ability to work within established system architectures
• Experience designing and maintaining RESTful APIs
• Familiarity with cloud-native patterns (e.g., messaging, containerization, resiliency)
• Exposure to Domain-Driven Design (DDD) principles
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and Git workflows
• Understanding of security concepts (OAuth2, OpenID Connect, JWT)
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS cloud services
• Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar)
• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker
• Experience with container orchestration tools (e.g., Kubernetes, ECS, or similar)
• Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, Bitbucket Pipelines, etc.)
• Backend development experience with Java and Spring Boot
• Experience with source control systems and modern development workflows
• Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools (e.g., CloudWatch, Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana)
• Understanding of security best practices in cloud environments

Total Rewards

The salary range for this position is $84,000 - $175,000, and individuals may be eligible to participate in our bonus program.
