Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for an experienced Big Data Solutions Architect who will become the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for designing big data architectures that leverage AWS's cloud technology. Our customer engagements will focus on Real Time and Batch-based Big Data processing, Business Intelligence, and Machine Learning. This role will specifically focus on Amazon Web Services for Big Data, including Amazon EMR for Hadoop & Spark, Amazon Elasticsearch Service, Amazon Athena, Amazon Kinesis Suite, and our storage, data warehousing, and business intelligence suite of products. As a Big Data Solutions Architect, you will focus time on helping our customers and partners build innovative Solutions and Businesses that focus on leveraging the value of data. You would be one of the founding members of a dynamic team bringing the latest in disruptive, cutting-edge cloud computing technologies to bear on the difficult cost and agility challenges facing many organizations. The business development and accounting management teams will help accelerate the adoption of Amazon Web Services as the leading cloud technology platform.

Beyond helping our customers, as the SME for all things Big Data, you will develop white papers, blogs, reference implementations, and presentations to enable customers and 3rd parties to fully leverage AWS Big Data services. The Big Data Solutions Architect will also create field enablement materials for the broader SA population, to help other SA's understand how to integrate AWS storage options into customer architectures.

Roles and Responsibilities

    •Evangelizing current and future AWS services and technologies
    •Building and maintaining technical trusted advisor relationships with influential technical decision makers for the successful adoption and deployment of AWS services and technologies
    •Work in collaboration with the sales team to create and execute business plans to accelerate the adoption of AWS, exceed revenue goals, and drive customer satisfaction
    •Capture and share best-practice knowledge amongst the AWS solutions architect community
    •Identifying customer requirements and providing feedback into appropriate AWS services teams

Basic Qualifications

      •7+ years design/implementation/consulting experience of large-scale data solutions, including data warehousing, storage, and business intelligence.
      •Deep experience with DBA storage architectures, ETL solutions, Relational and NoSQL DB's, Hadoop, Spark, and object storage at scale.
      •Experience with replication, high availability, archiving, backup & restore, and disaster recovery/business continuity data best practices.
      •Technical consulting and architecture with large-scale engagements.
      •Strong customer facing experience. Ability to present to large audiences and public forums is a must.
      •Technical degree required.
      •Experience using and adapting to new technologies.

Preferred Qualifications

    •Professional experience architecting/operating solutions built on AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
    •Experience communicating effectively across internal and external organizations, for complex mission-critical solutions
    •Experience with Enterprise data vendors such as Hortonworks, Hadoop, Spark, Tez, Presto, SQL Server, Oracle, MongoDB, RavenDB, PowerBI, Tableau, and others.
    •Understanding and experience with Machine Learning and AI related technologies.
